Maghrib adhan: prayer offered to Allah as the sun sets

The Maghrib prayer is one of the five mandatory salah. As an Islamic day starts at sunset, the Maghrib prayer is technically the first prayer of the day. If counted from midnight, it is the fourth prayer of the day.

It is Haraam to perform Adhaan and Salaah as the Sun is setting. Adhaan and Salaah for Maghrib must be made after the sun has set.

Please change the spelling from Adhan to Azan. Azan is much closer to the Arabic pronunciation that Adhan. I've myself struggled with this and so have many other new Muslims and non-Muslims.

Azan is closer to the pronunciation by Turkish/Indo-Pak Muslims. The better way to spell it is Adhan/Athan. You're essentially using the same sound as in the American pronunciation of the word 'The' or 'That', where your tongue is positioned between the teeth.
