I appreciate the complement. I'm bad with expressing what I mean and try to keep stuff to text (if you've seen my 4:3 videos. I'm not really that good at talking about things off the cuff), but I can try to talk as best as I can if people are interested in hearing it. Right now, I'm planning for a raw demo on 1/1, whether or not it's up to snuff (and I expect a lot of bugs and issues in general), so maybe we can schedule something.

Is this 3d or 2d? Prerendered vids for BGs?

It's on the fly pre-rendering. Everything is 3D, but it's processed as 2D images. I was originally going to prerender assets, but it's annoying to work with large amounts of sprites, and I don't like working with 3D cameras, so it's the compromise between the feel of a 3D background with the flexibility of 2D sprite FX (afterimages, aberations, etc).
