Good morning Captain. Thank you for another great video. Doing some catching up from Days 339 to 346. In video 346, you mentioned the stresses of life, including retirement. For me, retirement is impending. In fact, while watching the video, I was typing my "To Do" list after I retire. And yes, training to hike the AT and going through my gear are on the list! Thank you for the continued inspiration! Keep trekking! PS Maybe some trail magic in Va. Trumbo Trailhead.

PS And yes, the stresses of life are quite different than being on the trail. What I admire the most though, is the simplicity of "living". Literally, everything you own is on your body or in your pack compared to a home full of "stuff".

Hey, Captain Jack, you're bringing back vivid memories for me. I stayed at Raven's Rock Shelter December 30th, 2019 and was cold in my 20° bag that really was comfortable at 40. The next night, New Year's Eve, I stayed in the privy under construction at Pogo memorial campsite when the wind chill was down to about 15°. Practically froze my butt off and had to get off trail the next morning cuz I knew I couldn't take another night of being that cold. Got a shuttle back to my car at pen mar and headed home towards Boston but walked the battlefields of Gettysburg on New Year's Day. Anyway, it's great to follow you through the short state of Maryland because I stopped at or stayed at every shelter there. (I went back and finished Maryland 3 years later.)

So totally awsome❤❤❤❤❤I know you’re cold but so awesome… I did 3 miles this morning and was not cold at 22° but I was thinking about you and how cold it is where you are. Whew!

Stay as long as you can out of the Matrix. Pinhotti Trail to Florida Trail maybe? 🤔

You need a top for your sleeping tent. It will help keep the winter dew off you and a bit warmer.

The original British Colonial era appears to be Apalachean not Appalachian. The British, French, Catawba, and Cherokee wars are " forgotten" here after decades of alliance with England. But I'd spoken in the modern spelling and often had gotten looks. Just a fact they don't recall history before the Civil War. Chief Threesocks.
