Another fun fact about the General Joe Potter: William Everett Potter, who the boat is named after, not played a key role in the construction of WDW, but also helped plan the Normandy landings in WWII, helped with the Allied convoy system known as the Red Ball Express which supplied the forces moving quickly after the landings, AND was involved with the logistics of the 1964 NY World's Fair. He was also the governor of the Panama Canal Zone (when it was a part of the US before it was given back to Panama in 1979)

Loved your vid, loved your personality. My first trip, December 1971 the boat was the only way in to the park. No Epcot, No Animal Kingdom, nothing but the Magic Kingdom and even then there were many attractions that hadn't opened yet, I make make a 50 year anniversary tirp around December 4th. Hi Jackie! Another amazing video! You always manage to capture some of the most amazing shots. The steam engine on the Riverboat was so cool and not one that most people bother to highlight. Also one of the last times the Cast Members drained the Small World ride, they collected around $22,000 dollars which they voted to give to the local Make a Wish charity. Glad you made time for a Disney snack. Thats always a must isnt it? You were so close to that delicious Dole Whip as well! Thanks for another super fun video. Stay enthused!

Yes a log boat counts. The indigenous peoples in our area made kayaks out of wooden logs out into the ocean. So it’s definitely a boat ride!

WOW! Now I remember...you pay X-amount of dollars to get into the park...back then $60.00 per person and then you gotta wait up to an hour for each ride...I remember those days...and then in total with breaks and lunch time and goofing off just to find a spray "Cool-me-down" area...that's about 4 to 5 rides in a single day realistically...then you count the time it takes to "Walk" not run to the nearest attraction...and if lucky the slowest person doesn't complain about the heat and extra rest room breaks...it really puts things into perspective that a 3 day vacation with hotel costs and board or travel expenses to get to the park from say Mississippi is a HUGE CHUNK OF change that even Middle Classes frown upon and even the upper POOR CLASS that I am a part of...it's just easier to watch the videos of KZbinrs that are so lucky to get to enjoy, but still share their fun...I appreciate these videos...and have considered my wife that cant walk that fast...but needs a wheelchair of sorts...well that dampens the adventure to even a lesser time of rides...It's no one's fault because this also JUST THE WAY IT IS...so I have decided to consider an adventure in an off season without the #19 headache to get her to see the world in just 3 days...5 in total due to transportation to and back from Mississippi...she don't fly...lol.

Liberty Square Riverboat Fun Facts While the Liberty Belle is a fully functioning steamboat, it is still guided by a steel beam track under the water so that it follows the same path each time! The cabin you pass by on the Rivers of America at Disneyland used to be on fire
