I remember the first time I saw this series... I wasn't expecting the twist the ending had, because I'd seen the OVA first. (That was what got me into the series actually). So it caught me off guard when I saw the reason Emeraude had really summoned them, and the ending made me cry. It's such a beautiful, but heartbreaking story... One of the best anime ever made, if you ask me, and the soundtrack is just amazing.

Yes this is one of the most beautiful and memorable anime I've ever seen. The animation was magnificent and the plot was amazing. I'd say Rayearth and Sailor Moon are definitely my top favorite animes of all time. 😊

That ending really caught me off guard when I first watched this. One of my favourite twists in all of fiction.

The only thing I HATE about the twist is how the series goes out of its way almost unnaturally to throw us off in the first episode...Zagato and Clef say things that make no sense to what they know of the situation. Like Zagato saying "You'll never be able to **save** the princess like this", or Clef strongly implying that they need to defeat Zagato and save the princess in order to save the world...like, I feel like that could have been done better. BUT this is one of my absolute favourite series from my childhood, and I adore it! I hope I can get my bf interested in watching it with me, and I hope I get to see his reaction to it all!! We're actually watching Cardcaptor Sakura together, at the moment~ ^-^

Fun Fact: Did y'all know that the voice actress for Umi in the english dub of Rayearth also voiced Princess Emeraude as well? Yep the voice actress voiced two characters in one anime and she did it splendidly. Pretty talented if you ask me. 😊
