Lloyd. Your an amazing creator. And very humble. I love your dedication to the Craft and that's one of the reasons why I delayed my gratification in picking up someone else Index. I believe in your Dex because of how much work and Value you provide. The value of Dex Far exceeds the price of the Product. This is a must buy for any serious Magician. A beautiful utility limited but your own creativity. I really appreciate your review David. Thank you for taking your time to review Dex. Keep up the great detail reviews.

Its strange, as someone who uses an advocate, from the review I'm not sold on the product (at least for cards) but the video sounds worth picking up. I know I always recommend the advocate, there is an amazing elegance to the simplicity of it and you can include the aces and a couple gaffs with practice too.
@AntonioGee Жыл бұрын
Mr. Madison , Daniel Madison, Daddy Maddy FANX for releasing The Advocate! I couldn't agree more, the simplicity of it makes it so genius. Even though they say you can drive over DEX what happens if it does break, can't perform untill you buy another and wait for it to be delivered but if something happens to The Advocate you can go to the gas station and pick up a deck of cards and you're set! With this release it's official, nothing can beat The Advocate. Laughable that the only con is counting , simple math is a no go for a great tool apparently.
@jamesclark3239 Жыл бұрын
Tbh I don't think the advocate can be beaten, as you said nothing added you could even empty your pockets later in the evening without arousing suspicion and I'm guessing takes up less space and can be used as a backup for your other effects

It hurts my heart to say this but I used to love Daniel Madison. Bought almost every product he came out with since Dangerous: Mystique and Motion. And I agree he is an amazing card mechanic, video creator, and teacher. However his abysmal customer service has to be mentioned. I preordered his book 52 way back in November of 2018 and never received it or got my money back. There is no way to contact him. Doesn’t answer anything in the comments of his videos, never answers any DM on any of his social media, never answers any email. I’ve heard that the only way to get him to respond to anything is to become part of his patreon and I refuse to spend money to get an answer on a simple customer service question on a product I’ve already paid for. It’s a shame that someone that I used to think of as an idol and mentor I now look at as a thief. I guess that’s my fault to some extent for trusting a self proclaimed card cheat. Honestly a shame.

Without knowing anything about the mechanics or nuances of Dex, I will say that The Other Brothers’ pocket index that comes with their effect, Card to Pocket, has a really nice concept borrowed from a classic principle that is actually really clever and efficient. Imagine The Advocate by Daniel Madison but with an additional principle that makes The Advocate twice as good, easily. I would be curious about how Dex compares to the Card to Pocket Index where the gimmick is actually quite minimal.

One BIG POINT thats never mentioned thats critical is each persons BODY TYPE!!! I haven't receive DEX yet but after watching your review ( thanks for it too) the first thing that pop in my mind is that I don't like when tutorial video are too long. I mean, I can get that most magiciens love it cause they learn so many possibilities with it but as a pro magician that already know a lot about magic, watching too long tutorial just bored me. We already always in front of our screen i don't feel like being an extra 5 hours in order to get teached stuff I already know. Plus, I really prefer to let my own creativity come out with ideas instead of having it stuff to me directly in my mouth with a giant spoon by other magicians. I already own the index that Daniel madison put on the market years ago, I use it, I never missed finding the right card, not even once and on his dowload he teach 1 good palming technic and about 3-4 good routine and that is all you need really. more then that is too much in my humble opinion. But hey, I still can't wait to get my hand on that one. thanks to the creators and again, thanks to you for the review!
@LloydB Жыл бұрын
The tutorial is split into 5 volumes and each of the volumes has super easy to navigate chapters. So you just skip through and only watch the parts that interest you. We made sure that this was incredibly easy to navigate because there's so much content. In theory, you could just watch the quick section at the start that teaches you to use DEX and then go work on your own ideas with it. You don't have to watch the whole thing, and it's structured/designed so that you can choose small portions at a time :)

I like the power of an index to create some very powerful effects. Dex looks like it could be a great tool. Excellent review, it went a long way to helping me better understand what, apart from the fact it is an index, this project includes/involves. I have several indexes including Q and Cheetah. To me, the key question for any index is “do I have a legitimate need for this.” You have to know why you want it and what you are going to do with it. Indexes can be very strong IF you use it and that will ultimately come down to whether you have a use for it that is strong enough to warrant taking up an entire pocket (or in some cases both pockets). Pocket space is prime real estate and that’s ultimately why I’ve never used the indexes I have.
