As we get into our golden years. Our skin gets dry. I never had an issue until I got into my late fifties. I also live in the northeast and winters here can be brutal on the skin. I use a lotion I got off a shop on eBay. Works great. For those who don’t have dry hands and feel this is a hoax,…. Consider yourself fortunate. There are days I struggle to fan a card or do a double lift. It’s real, and I’m glad there are products designed specifically for magicians. I like the lotion I have now but will try this when I need more.

I hear you! I don't know if I've reached my golden years I'm only 54 ;) and I've struggling with dry hands for deccaeds. I've done magic since I was 8 years old and I just thought I lacked the skill needed for a lot of things. But after developing Easy Palm I've come to realize the extend of difficulties dry skin causes, it goes way beyond nagic. And guess what, I didn't lack the skills so after more than 40 years of magic I now do second deal and other difficult stuff I once thought impossible.

Interesting discussion, as those without chronically dry hands won’t be able to understand just how frustrating it is to not be able to simply palm coins, cards or even do something as easy as a glide as your hands / fingers have zero friction. Dry hands is a thing and it only gets worse as you get older. I’ve battled it, tried everything under the sun to cure it (some lotions coat your hands and make it even worse) but nothing helped until I saw Paul Gertner perform on a morning show (we hired him to do close up at a corporate event and he graciously agreed to go on an early-morning broadcast to pump it up). He mixes rose water with glycerin, puts it in an empty eye-drop bottle (like a little Visine bottle) and before he starts, squeezes two drops in his palm and rubs his hands together. I’m telling you, it works like - well, magic. Massive props to Paul for sharing this as I’d tried everything with zero luck. If you have dry hands, give this a try!

Rosewater and Glycerine are the main ingredients in Easy Palm. Combined with Argan Oil and a few other nourishing ingredients :)

Nice to know there is a product out there. I am in my late 50s but luckily don't have a problem with my palming. Yet. I didn't know this was about , what a good product. Thanks David.

Sounds great. I have genetically anhydrous hands (no hand sweat - just smooth dry hands 24/7), which keeps me from doing many, many sleights (and also leads to the occasional dropped prop).

Although I don't have a medical condition, I can imagine the trouble that is causing you. I "only" have dry skin, but there have always been many moves I couldn't do, and I have dropped my fair share of props. I literally tried hundreds of lotions, etc., but none of them ever really offered a sustainable solution for my Teflon fingers; most didn't work, and others resulted in new problems, like greasy hands; that's why I spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to develop Easy Palm.

I found after 40 I started having quite dry hands. I saw a Jason England lecture once where he recommended‘working hands’ cream which helps a bit but I’ll try this thanks

Working Hands is a great product, but in my experience, you need to apply it an hour or two in advance, and if you start to sweat, the palms will become greasy. But if your skin is damaged with cracks, etc., there's no better product. Not even Easy Palm :)

When I was young, I had the problem of too wet hands (I was constantly whipping them on my pant legs 😂). Now that I'm old, my hands are too dry. I saw a Penguin lecture with Tom Mullica, who said Working Hands was the best.

Working Hands is a great product and the only one internationally available. I would probably agree with Tom Mullica, that is, until I developed Easy Palm :) Which Tom Mullica unfortunately didn't get to try. My problem is that I have both dry skin AND sweat a lot on my hands, which causes additional challenges. Give Easy Palm a try, and I'm sure you'll love it.

Easy Palm is apllied like a hand lotion and thus it covers the whole hand and improves your grip in general regardless of what you want to handle. So cards, coins, balls etc. and it's not just for magic. I use it every day and after 1½ year I still keep finding new things that are just so much easier with Easy Palm :)

It's amazing what crazy ideas some manufacturers come up with to discover a supposed gap in the market that isn't a gap at all. For many decades, world-famous card artists have managed without this lotion. Nobody even remotely missed her. Neither did Dary when he won the FISM Award with his Ambitious Card routine. Honestly guys, save your money and use some cheap hand cream a few minutes before your performance ( like Roberto Giobbi recommends in his Card College ) It costs under $1 and does the same thing for a lot of performances!

The true test would've been to wash hands with soap 🧼 and water 💧 for 2 minutes. Then, apply lotion and let sit for 2 minutes. Then, perform some sleight of hand. But if I remember correctly, you are not a big SOH guy?

@kennithnielsen7607
@kennithnielsen7607 4 ай бұрын
There are many factors in play. Things like skin type, climate, natural moisture level, and what your hands are exposed to in terms of household chemicals, etc. Therefore, it's difficult to give an exact answer. But in general, it will work within a minute of application, and the effect will last for hours. If the skin is dehydrated, you might need to apply a few times to saturate it.
