Rich Ferguson's Tagged is way more better. Just replace the ink with a lipbalm. This is the type of trick that was solved years ago. There are plenty of tricks out there that if a magician is imaginative enough could come up with a better idea just like how I made one of my thumb tip as a swami gimmick with a refillable ballpoint pen ink.

Only if it was reversed printed.I could press it against the table in a restaurant at the edge.Then do like a palm readings while her arm rested on the spot to transfer the stuff to her arm without her knowledge.Since servers wipe the table with bleach water all evidence is gone.Waitresses could mark the table after they clean so I have nothing to hide.But the mental effects pen & separate fluid still sold by Aaron Smith (themagicdepot) is better.Fluid is for any stamp so you can force any image as to what is found in the toy aisle at any store.

3D printing itself is not the enemy. The specific choices and technology used are generally the culprit as far as a cheap looking product is concerned. Recent resin printing technology is now nearly flawless.

oh sure, just like any new tech ... agreed

"The Other Brothers" had a really great way to do this using a sharpie. I'm pretty sure it was called "Skin" or "Bare" or "Bare Bones" or something like that. They performed it for me at a convention a few years ago.

I am going to get on my soap box a little here… I think some people are getting 3D printers and coming up with ideas on how they think they can make some money quickly; then creating gimmicks without field testing their ideas. It bugs me when ‘magicians’ come up with something and make a claim, (creating an image on a spectator’s skin), just to sell the idea, without ever actually having field-tested the item to determine if what they claim can be done is actually a good, working application of the gimmick. No testing, no tweaking it to get it right…just a mad rush to create a false claim based on their untested idea to generate excitement and get as many of the items as they can move and make money on, sold before they word gets out. Things like that are an attempted money grab, not any contribution to the performance art of magic. I don’t care how good of an idea this may be, if they release it without field testing it, filming live performances and providing training/instruction on how to actually, successfully accomplish what they claim the main intention of the trick is, they should be ashamed of themselves. This 3D printing and selling of gimmicks with claims of functionality that are not practical, tested or properly taught, seems to be a growing trend in magic and I don’t like it. Basically, they’re selling the first-run prototype that came from an idea. Those in the magic community who are unfortunate enough to purchase such items are, more often than not in such cases, paying money to field test and figure out on their own, an idea/gimmick that ultimately doesn’t really work in the real world and isn’t worth the resin with which it was printed. While I like that people are coming up with new ideas or new twists to old ideas, the deceptive claims and the marketing of untested products with insufficient instructions, (or none at all), has to stop. This doesn’t do the magic community any good.

My original comment said, “dirt-run prototype”. Stupid autocorrect. I don’t even know what that is. LOL I’ve edited the comment to say, “first-run prototype”. Which…now that I think about it, is kind of redundant. 😎

Hi David, For a very long time I've been achieving a similar, and arguably better effect with a sugar cube and pencil. At virtually no cost!
@magicorthodoxy2 жыл бұрын
I learned the sugar cube trick from a Disneyland Magic book when I was a kid
@pinballwizard6662 жыл бұрын
@@magicorthodoxy I genuinely rate it was one of the best 'impromptu' effects that I know. Nobody has ever worked it out. I love it because it is so audacious. The hardest part is introducing the sugar cube...... Sweet!

If the writing looked hand written I would buy, (have bought-retired), it with no video instruction. As you described the contraption I could picture exactly how to get the imprint on the spectators arm without them feeling it, what trick I would do to lead into it with to do the dirty work; this could be a killer routine. Hey Marduk, 3D print that thing with a hand written font, teach a good routine with some patter ideas, and shoot a good video; you'll be able to charge $40 for it!
@psosna2 жыл бұрын
Imagine combining this with the newly released "Lume". If you are good at audience management you should be able to think of a number of routines!

@@magicorthodoxy Yeah, but only if the products didn't do what they claimed or/and were trash, like many Sansminds items. I remember laughing at many of the reviews, it was almost like a comedy show. Though all reviews were honest and didn't rip on a product unfairly
