I don't think Zedd's declined at all, it's just that he also produces club bangers and since those sell best those are what get released as singles. Listen to his work on Lady Gaga's track Aura or some of the other non-singles from his albums, they're much less Top 40-esque.

I usually didn't like the original song. But then we had this dance called morp. And the theme was back to the future. So the dj started in 50's, kept skipping to new decades. And then after the 90's he was like "it is time for the future" This was the first song he played and his was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had at a dance in my life.
