Surprised you didn’t bring up Fblthp or Pemmin's Aura. For Pemmin's Aura, there was a creature called Morphling that dominated when it released, and it was nicknamed 'Superman'. "Pemmin's Aura" gave the abilities of Morphling to the enchanted creature, and the name is an anagram of "I am Superman."

@@luna_coool Fblthp is a character who shows up in Gatecrash's "Totally Lost" in 2013. He makes cameos in a bunch of other artworks, generally being places he shouldn't be. He got his own card in War of the Spark, "Fblthp, the Lost."

Actually, they have one more Gavin Verhey, one of the lead desighners, who also made Ikoria commander decks and is a huge fan of cycling, named main commander of Jeskai Deck, Gavi, Nest warden, in his own honor. He told about it somewhere and he was really excited WotC let him do it

yes, problems in the future are a big factor in these things and sometimes it happens faster than you think! i'm in a large discord server where there were 3 emotes refering three people, one is about one of the admins and it's still there. meanwhile the other two, that referenced two members of the server, were removed at the same time (one thanks to me, the other as a form of self-destruct) for two different reasons that happened to be at the same time; something that can be easily fixed but that makes you stop, think and realise you should never do it again.

It's so incredibly vindicating to hear other people cite fatigue from increasing amounts of characters and storylines, coupled with the fact that every movie increasingly feels like a decreasingly justified plea to be allowed to make more big budget movies, which feel more and more like the real reason that they're releasing so many shows and movies so quickly is that they're hoping that the audience won't ever have enough time to think about anything else, and therefore never realize that the formula has gotten stale and predictable and so have a lot of the characters as their reason for souring on the MCU. It's gratifying because it's the exact same reason I lost interest in Marvel comics right around the time the MCU was just getting its footing.

Exactly, I like a good easter egg or even a "oh you may have missed this" moment, but when that gets repeated over and over and over, and is only done so people can point at and exhale out their nose, It has lost its flare.

I'd argue that the Heros of the Realm cards are all vanity cards, so vanity cards are still being made. The only difference is that now they're 1 of 1 or 1 of 10.

They don't go out to the public/don't have an actual magic backing and they do a lot of things that normal cards could never do. Beyond this, they're also not direct references of the individuals who worked on the game. They're cool and interesting cards though. Might have to make a video on them sometime.

I think be nice to have vanity cards for the original makers of the game as like planswalker unglued card or sliver board secret lairs or win of torments get lair art or some artist and stuff get cards be cool long time artist or ppl who make realy popular it be kind of cool so play a deck of tourment winners or artist. Or deck base on a person that came up with a mechanical like trample or indestructible key words or powers or concepts like phase out or mill ppl who come up with the mechanism integrated game should get like a card base on that and have some card made for them cool way to remember immortalized in the game for give us this cool stuff that gives us joy plus if going take form any Hasbro so at this ponit I'm surprised they haven't done this yet milk for fan favorite ppl or artist and have cards made form them figured that sell too
