Wildlife central there's a big difference between sea lion and seals

Thanks for the comment. The species in the video is indeed a seal, a Cape fur seal, also known as brown fur seal. Fur seals do have external, visible ears as well. Scientific name of the species is Arctocephalus pusillus. The same taxonomic family that Cape fur seals and sea lions belong to is called the "Otariidae", which is "eared seals".

beautiful documentary but there are no sharks in those cold waters. sharks are cold blooded and would die within an hour in those cold waters. sharks can only survive in warm waters. I have swum in those cold waters and they are freezing! seals are mammals and therefore warm blooded and can maintain body temperature even in those cold waters.

The curse of being a lifelong birder. At 18:01 the gull shown was identified as a Cape Gull but the bird shown is a Western Gull so that footage isn't in Namibia, more like California. L to the editing team

The scene at 18:01 was filmed at Walvis Bay, Pelican Point in Namibia and the subject species is Larus dominicanus (Kelp gull or locally referred to as the Cape gull - [ssp. vetula]).
