Magical Northern Vietnam Countryside: Ban Gioc & Nam Tra Waterfall, Cao Bang & God's Eye Mountain

After our visit to Ba Be Lake National Park our trip takes us even further north to Cao Bang and it's amazing and scenic countryside. We ride on a rental scooter to the Ban Gioc Waterfall and explore the scenic area around the "God's Eye Mountain" (the mountain with a hole).
Special guest this time is Thomas from Canada, whom you might remember from the Ba Be video. We met and just instantly clicked. :) He joins us on one of the day trips before we're heading back south on the nightbus.
Join us on our first "long" journey on the bike while meeting a new friend we became very close with.

I remember my wife and I were talking it's so cool how Vietnam felt so safe, to see children and old grand parents enjoying that lake at night. Hoan Kiem Lake and VN in general is a rare place where we see tourist hot spot having so many locals residents enjoying the same space and fun with foreign tourists.

Yeah, that place is really magical. We spend more then 4 hours there ☺️👍 We were glad that our host recommended that plays, otherwise we wouldn’t have known.

Hi mein Freund! Danke für dein Feedback. Tatsächlich ist es so, dass es schon dreckig war. Aber die touristischen Spots waren schon sauber. Auch Cao Bang ging echt ok. Aber im Fluss hat man schon hier und da was gesehen.

May I ask what time of the year did you go?

Sure! We went there in October and the weather was perfect - not crazy hot, not yet cold (except for the nights when you’re on a scooter, as you saw in the video 😅). Can really recommend going during that time of the year!

How did you booked the bus from Cao bang to hanoi? What are the timings of the bus

Actually we didn’t book the bus. Our host from Hanoi organized the whole bus trip from Hanoi to ba be , from ba be to cao bang and back.
