I don't think it's the same thing, knowing the process and being able to execute it are two different things. On the contrary, I think it's sort of a compliment that people can only point and guess the process and that's about what they can do.

Haha I followed the last trick pretty easily, right after Ellen signed the card. 4:19, he replaced the signed card to the original deck, swapped it with the 2 of clubs, 4:28 he folded the signed card behind the original deck on his left palm, 5:03 he just put the folded card into the battery case while he was opening it. Pretty fast and entertaining though. Can't figure out how he did the 7 of diamonds card display on the phone though at 4:47
@piercewise110 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming the entire deck is 7s of diamonds, which is how he knew which card she'd pick and how he was able to set his phone up beforehand.

just to help some of the people who genuinely aint got a clue how this is done when they think they have it all sussed out. ill give you one clue and if you cant work it out from there then you dont deserve to know. look at the signature on the card that Ellen physically signed compared to the one on the card pulled from the phone.
@freddiesoft10 жыл бұрын
Ikenna all card of that deck are 7 of diamonds, that's why he knew the card from the beginning

Looks like he used a classic force to me, as opposed to a deck full of the same card. Also her signature looked exactly the same before and after he took it out of the phone.

For those who didn't see his hands... He quickly switched the card back into the pack and replaced it with another card before he swiped it on the phone and then he proceeded to fold the signed card during their conversation and then removed the signed hidden card at the back of the pack (her card) and placed into the back of the phone as he opened the rear cover to the battery. lol... that os magic my friends. watch the video again and you will see his subtle movements which enabled him to do this trick.
@classicmail82398 жыл бұрын
Wrong there is a dummy card inside the phone and he makes a switch at 5:05 you can see the folds in the cards are different as he switches

4:20 he switched the cards to make it so called change
@imprataap9 жыл бұрын
just concentrate on his left hand and you will get to know that how did he do it. That card was never in the phone. He has placed that card at the very last moment after opening the back cover of phone. very smartly he has made a story of showing image of card in the phone so that by other hand he gets the time to fold it and hide it into palm(his fingers are folded). And he can easily do it... After all he is a MAGICIAN :) To check it just slow down your video by 0.5 or 0.25 from settings.
@MisterKlai9 жыл бұрын
actually there was a card in the phone, just a diff one and he switched it to the folded one when he pulled the card out. if you notice, the fold of the card is not quite the same.

@laestherminator10 жыл бұрын
Marvin Flips YESSS Thanks for your comment regarding the 3rd trick. Definitely figured it out. For those of you who are still confused: you can see at 4:19 that he switches the signed card with a random one from his left hand (the 2 of clubs shown at 4:25), which means he's now holding Ellen's card in said left hand. Then while he's talking to Ellen, he seems to be fidgeting with the deck, sometimes hiding his hand from the crowd. That's probably when he, like a ninja, folds the card Ellen signed. At 5:00, he places the stack of cards down on the table, leaving just Ellen's folded card gripped in his left hand and proceeds to open the phone backing at 5:01 (while hiding his left hand), which is when he slips the folded card in, making it seem like it was there the entire time. SO SMOOTH. SO SEAMLESS.

yeah that was pretty sloppy, card forced, sign, swap, palm i was going to write the same thing the cell was at least a nice touch.
@Dtyler17110 жыл бұрын
Bevis Cumia I wouldn't say it was sloppy, only because most people don't have an eye for magic, and would just think and say "Wow, that's great!". That said, when I am watching "magic" on TV (or in person), I know exactly how they do a large majority of the tricks, and I have no magic background. It does, however, make the few I don't know how they do, even better.

It's called Sleight of Hand. The second and third trick were the most obvious. Example, guess how the folded card got into the phone? the moment he slapped the phone onto his left hand, he slipped the card into place. Few seconds before that he was folding the card while forcing the audiences attention towards his right hand.

With that last trick, he messed up a bit. You could see his hands at work, from when he used Ellen to place her hand on the phone as a distraction, so he could swap out the card. But that's not a bad thing. It actually just makes us understand how it's done & shows us that some of this stuff isn't immensely hard if you practice.
@alexanderwallach71578 жыл бұрын
ok i think i understand the last illusion, well all of them but the last one especially was very well performed 👌 Doing this in front of an audience and with so much perfection just amazing

Lol how is his loop that stretched out ?????
@askingattila26547 жыл бұрын
Charlie Stowe I don't think he used a loop for this version. I think he has a loop but it's cut like a string and it's taped to his shoulder or something. Im not sure but one thing for sure is that the loop isn't around his hand
@Namestop310 жыл бұрын
Kinda painful to watch when you know how to do the trick. All it is is just an elastic string or an invisible string wrapped around his wrist when the trick starts. He tells them to pick and card and turns away from the camera to place the loop around the cards. Then pushes the card inside while it puts tension on the loop and then pulls to move the deck.
@templarallen10 жыл бұрын
dude, not every one dont want to know
@sleightlymagical51165 жыл бұрын
Do you realize how much work it takes to do this with the shadow of your hand? I use Yigal Mesas loops, and it is beautiful to watch. To me, as a magician, it didn't seem like there was loops because it was so good. How is it painful to watch? If you can do it better, than maybe it is painful, like a little kid doing a double lift with no practice.

First trick: invisible string Second trick: the deck consists of 26 red cards (diamonds and hearts) and 26 blue cards (clubs and spades). The cards are glued together and in ascending order so it is easy to find every card counting and once you are in the right position you can unstick the selected card. Infact the queen of hearts is the penultimate card and it is glued with the 2 of clubs (or spades). Third trick: he first changes the 7 with the 2 (4:20) and than he put the 7 inside the telephone while he is opening it (5:00)

Justin Lol, you know nothing about Shimshi, he is an acclaimed Las Vegas magician with mega sponsorship. He kept it simple for the show, and as others have said, for the reaction. @MrBenny1010110 жыл бұрын
Bah. Disappointed by the 2nd trick. You can buy it for like 10 bucks. I mean, it's in mass production. Fine for birthday parties and stuff. But I expected more for someone on a TV show. Ideally, I'd say this is where you show your own stuff. What's special about doing tricks anyone can buy at a magic store. Makes me think the other tricks might be ones you can just buy as well.
@JThunderSeries10 жыл бұрын
Dude this was in 2010' Dynamo did this trick like 2 years ago, u probably bought it 2 weeks ago.
@MrBenny1010110 жыл бұрын
No, in 2007 I worked for a guy who had a store but also did magic on the side. Saw his act a couple times and he used that one sometimes. That trick is a storebought version of the brainwave deck, it's an old trick, and it is basically just a gimmicked deck you can get for 10 bucks. And that's fine. But if you are going on TV, cmon, do something that's not listed in the "beginner" category in magic shops.
@bradleydolinger10 жыл бұрын
MrBenny10101 Magic isn't about competing with your audience and it doesn't matter what the trick is you do in your act. What matters is how you perform and how fast you can perfect the trick. It may be a beginner trick but no beginner could do it that quick without perfecting it when its not perfect its a little on the beginner side but with the right presentation and performance it could be a good trick i use one in every one of my shows.
@benjaminthvedt792310 жыл бұрын
Brad Dolinger The only skill you need to perform that trick is the ability to follow basic instructions. Sure there's a bit of showmanship but from someone who purports to be a professional magician I am underwhelmed by something that works out of the box. Where's his desire to perform his own material or be original or demonstrate skill.. personally those are the things that I like to see but maybe that's just me.
@serratop11 жыл бұрын

Ugh, the last trick was simply sleight of hand. If he were to have Ellen open the back of the phone and pull out the card I would be impressed. But he simply slid it into place as he opened the phone.
@iDLaX1210 жыл бұрын
nope, the card was in there with her signature already, as he asked Ellen to put her hand on the phone he puts the 7of Diamonds back into the pack and pulls a random card(being the 2of Clubs), and i mean its easy to find Ellens signature so he had a card pre placed in the phone, Done!!!

If anyone is curious about how he did the trick, I'm pretty sure I've figured it out. First part: 4:18 you can see him swap the card while everyone is looking at the phone. Second: after 4:19 and up until he opens the phone, his left hand (the one holding the deck) is moving very abnormally, I'm pretty sure he has the 7 of diamonds at the bottom of the deck and has practiced to fold it with one hand. Lastly: when he transfers the phone between hands, the card is palmed in that hand and makes placing it to make it appear that it was in the phone is simple

Na the 3rd the cards are marked and the phone can pick up which card is picked when he holds it close. Then he used sleight of hands when he made it disappear and he folded it and quickly shoved it in the phone while removing the back cover of the phone.
@bassmetalheadbang9 жыл бұрын
Hence when he said they were normal cards he was lying. Because the other trick when he guessed the cards are marked on the back which you can read by squinting your eyes.

Such a disappointment. Magic use to be something special and amazing and above all secrete. I'm not as disappointed with his performance as much as I am about the fact that even classics are insulted by people who would never know how any tricks were done without typing it into the internet. No one works for information and no one earns information. It's handed to them by paying their cable bill every month. Give the guy some credit. He's not Dai Vernon, but at least he's got guts to go on national TV and perform on the spot. Besides, the magic is in performance. If you think David Copperfield believes that you believe he can fly then your ego and intell is an issue. Everybody's a critic.

He uses the mercury fold, you can see him replace the card with the decoy card. And in front of us does the fold with both hands. He opens the phone with both hands also, if he let Ellen open it than yeah. Always watch his left hand in the 3rd trick.

Yep these tricks were well performed and require a lot of practice to master.. For those wondering how he did those tricks.. This is how he might have done them.. 1) He's using an extremely thin string called the "magician's invisible string " . He places the card in the deck ( look how he doesn't place it in full light, so that people cannot see the string ) which has the string wrapped around it and also around his left hand . He then moves the string wit his fingers which move the deck. and reveals the card.. and flicks the string to let the card fly. Also called "haunted deck" 2) It is a deck which has 2 cards of different colors facing each other which have a matte surface. Its called the " brainwave deck ". 3) This one is the stupidest trick. He switches the card at 4:19 to place Ellen's card on top of the deck.. Flips the deck at 4:20.. Folds the card using his left palm at 4:27

the tricks he did are actually very easy to performe. 1st was the hunted deck, 2ns was the invisible deck but with a different set up (instead of back to back they are face to face) and the 3rd one 4:16 u can see that he is switching the selected card for a randow card (2C) and than it's an app (for iPhone it's called Mental Card). He previously put the 7D on the app. At 5:00 you can see that he reveals the card with the right hand, the hand where the cards were. When he was showing the phone he folder ther card and than boom... a simple sleight of hand to reveal the card behind the phone...

1. Haunted Deck (i guess) 2. Some sort of The Invisible Deck 3. The last trick is easy: - he forced the 7 of diamonds, - switched it at 4:19 to the 2 of clubs - at 5:00 you can see his left hand, the folded 7 of diamonds had been in his left hand already, he turned the phone so he could placed the card in easily, with a little bit sleight of hands he created an illusion that the card was in the battery case
@nathaliexlr88 жыл бұрын
First trick: invisible string. 1:21 Look how his fingers go up before he snaps them - that's the string. These strings are quite easy to break if you're not careful enough, but he's obviously not an amateur.

it was different from the other invisible decks though, his was face down instead of face up so he had to memorize the order of the cards, which makes it more impressive also the red/blue card thing makes the trick even more impressive
