I had a friend with this issue she went really long and they fell off and one ripped her nail with the acrylic. She didn’t listen to the nail tech who said let’s start short and go longer as your nails grow. So next time we went back she listened and as her nails grew then the length got longer and her nails came back and no popping off or ripping that was so painful felt so bad for her. Hope she does ok with the length!

I'm scared for her nail beds when she rips an entire nail out. I would have recommended much shorter length while her natural nails grow out. It's a good way to get people to stop chewing off their finger tips. Over time she'd have more natural nail to work with and her nail beds would have an opportunity to recover. Then she could move up to longer lengths without concern. In this condition those tips are basically glued to the idea of nails. Not nails themselves.

It’s not that the whole nail will come off it’s that the long extension itself doesn’t have enough support from her natural nails. These would not last long. There is more weight on the extension than it is on her natural nails. I recommend giving shorter nails for nail biters to get them an opportunity for the nails to grow and heal properly from nail biting.

It actually is a matter of the natural nail ripping out very easily because since the nail bed is so small, the natural nail does not have enough flesh to hang onto in the case of bumping thr nail accidentally. This is the biggest risk of long nails on small nailbeds.

Literally yes. I have terrible nail biting habits, I just went through cosmetology school and I have had acrylics....she is definitely in pain. They will most likely rip off her already traumatized nails and do more permanent damage. She could potentially develop ram horn nails

I would recommend shorter nails and for her to also take prenatals as those will help her nails grow in healthier longer and stronger. It also will help with hair because in most cases when woman's or girls nails are like this their hair is also in bad shape too. Even though long nails are beautiful it would be safer on her to go short and build length up. Also before putting nails on I would do a base coat on natural nails of one that helps nails grow also and give an extra protection of strength in case she hits her nails on anything it also can protect from damage of having acrylic nails. Lastly another option for her is have you do the design she wants on a full cover tip on a long nail and she can glue them on her natural nail and those usually last a week or two and if she needs a good nail glue that won't damage nails I suggest kiss maximum speed where it dries fast and like I said last a week or two depending on what she does in day to day basis. I know when my nails were short like this well it was just two nails but still I did fake nails that you glued on from the store that cost anywhere from $5-$10 though dollar tree is now selling long length nails for $1.25 and she can use those till her nails get too a better length and aren't as thin because her nails look paper thin. I say this out of love and care because I don't want too see her lose the little bit of nails she has because she got this length and then she hits it by accident and the nail rips off with her real nail. Another option in case she does hit her nails is too use a peel off base coat so the nail will pop off but won't harm natural nails. That's all the advice I have for you lovely and I hope it helps. 💜💜💜💜

Omg I thought my nails were bad 😮before I stoped bitting them only one of my finger nails were ever that bad and I couldn’t stand it , the nail tech would do magic on me and finally have those fake nails on for months at times actually helped me learn to stop bitting my nails ! Cause if I continued I’d for sure be back to no nail Nancy ! The only thing is I have trouble still to grow my nails past a certain length without them breaking and being thin all due to me constantly biting them through my younger years and teens …. It’s annoying I’ve tried everything nail hardener , no gel or acrylics I would just go bare natural , and. Now I do press ons here and there also biotin and now I’m doing folic acid , only time I ever had natural beautiful nails was when I was pregnant and on folic acid so imma try a bit of folic daily and see if that helps .
