I bought this 6 months ago. Great performance and no issues. I use the wireless at 45 mps connection no lag. I dont care about that LAN connector. I use the SSD Hard drive bay with 1 Terabyte SSD hard drive to record sports like Formula One. Streaming IPTV providers usually have a record feature. For the price and a Hard drive bay for recording and performance, I hoighly recommend this box.

most gigabit runs at lower or same speed as 100 mb. there is no need for faster connection at this low end usage unless you want to use your android unit for cooking.

Searching for a good budget tv box I came here from the H96 video, this feels kinda weird that you're saying that the Asphalt 8 and PUBG tests pass here and not in the H96 even though it seems to lag hard in both of them... Not that I actually care about that as I don't even plan on gaming on a tv box, but that just doesn't feel very right :) Anyhow, still searching for the best budget one for me. Thanks.

And he has careful not to show the CPU temperature. Poor firmware+ridiculously small heatsink=thermal throttling after 20-30 minutes of average use on this n5 plus. One(maybe more) more thing he forgot... Magicsee doesn't do updates OTA.If by miracle they release an update you have to manually reflash the whole OS. ...Can't install an SSD as internal memory...Overlooked _cons_ galore =)

@@jiojoe8829 Well maybe, I don't really care all that much, and his reviews are really great in general in my opinion, I just think that the test here was not very good compared to the other reviews he does. I'm currently thinking about getting the A95X F3 which looks really really good in the review he had and other reviews as well.

@@msacco I would go for a Ugoos X2 or X3.More expensive but also better in every way(components used, firmware optimization, updates) if compared with magicsee ,a95 or similar products. If I remember correctly the CPU on the a95x f3 is limited(on the stock firmware) to ~1600mhz in an attempt to minimize throttling. Cheers

@@msacco im not sure but i also think the a95x f3 is a good budget box. But be careful there are 3 different Version of the box. F3 air F3 slim And the A95x f3 which is the best version

Going back to 100mbs LAN is not encouraging for me considering how bad the wifi was. Unless you can benefit from the 4TB drive then it might not be worth it .

Netflix HD/4K requires licensing and is not given to all TV boxes. Supported models are: Nvidia Shield TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Mi Box.

Just got this box yesterday. Good box. But my settings icon freezes most times. Wt does the root icon mean. What does it do

Not sure why the settings icon is freezing. Maybe try doing a factory reset in case there is a software issue. Root icon will unlock root access to the box. So the user can install various system apps that require root access to work. Nothing exciting just a nerdy feature which does not mean anything to the average user. But if you don’t know what it is I recommend you ignore it.

the best thing about this box is that its a 9.0 pie & you can root it. that means you can actually sideload all your apks unlike other 9.0's that are restricted by google.

also if it had widevine l1 it coldnt play over 480p, because netflix has new protction. Customers has to take sertifica from netflix and must have google l1. This both must be at the same time. So google videwine l1 not enough anymore for over 480p.

It's rooted, or it's capable of being rooted. Any box that's rooted is not allowed to play Netflix, Amazon and some others in 1080. Period

The others answers may be accurate. However.. I gauge them as, because this is pure android and not android tv. Android tv has software for 4k prime and Netflix. Meanwhile pure android ( mobile android) does not have this app as its meant for smaller screen. The only ones having pure android with 4k Netflix and prime would be the ones that license themselves with these companies to sell them as such boxes. Otherwise with free android you get the non 4k player support only as those are officially meant for phone screens and android tv os is officially meant for tvs and boxes.

I have this box and I'm happy to have 480p on Netflix and Amazon Prime. It's better than nothing at all. For higher definition on these platforms I have the Sheild.
