While my repair worked, it didn't last too long because the scuffed up nature of my rotor probably meant it was wearing down the brushes at a rate of knots..

Over the years I've seen so many useful teardown videos to help me repair my stuff (mostly laptops). When that video of your device doesn't exist, I urge you to give it a go, see if you can tear it down and make a brief video. Even if you can't fix it, you may help others who don't know the order of how to disassemble a device. Or you get suggestions how to do it better. DON'T DELAY, RIGHT TO REPAIR TODAY! :-)

Same challenge here, smell and stopp. It is heavily used! The blender was at 2 services under warranty. Now I do not manage to unscrew 2 of the screws. They seem to go round but do not come out Any tips?

Hi All. I managed to remove the Rubber Cog Driver to release the motor assembly from the unit for perfect access to the rotor. Key to doing so was that the tread was clock wise to remove it which is totally counter intuitive. So holding on with a rag over the cooling blades as to not hurt my hand on the one side of the motor and gripping with all life on the Rubber Cog Driver did the trick.

I know it's 3 years ago as I have just found your video, but if you read this hold the main shaft at the motor bottom use a spanner then flip it over and grab the rubber drive at the top and turn it clockwise to undo it then you can take the motor out on it base, to clean the commutator you can buy a com block looks like a rubber but will polish the commutator bright clean.

Is it direct-drive? How many Nm?

Yes it is a direct drive. Not a lot of torque I predict, but high speed. Good for drifting with 36000 degrees of steering lock.

Hi thanks , this blender is currenty on saes in a local shop, the semmmer said" no worries with Magimix" and apparently you're saying the opposite ..as some other comments on Amazon ...and the reapir ( engine etc is pricey)

Well it is the only blender I've ever had, so how it compares to others I can't say! I also can't really compare our use (how many hours, how 'hard') we've put on compared to average.. Any brushed motor might develop these symptoms perhaps, and most will be brushed.. And brushless ones will have more electronics in them that can fail..

Hi Niels, thank you for posting this. I fixed my magimix blender which had the same problem and your video did help a lot. I was able to remove the coupler eventually, but it took way more effort than should have been necessary. You might want to check out my video of the whole process by clicking on my icon. Thanks!

Thanks! I'll put a link to your video in the description. The prices you got quoted by MagiMix aren't even THAT bad (compared to like $500 to fix the charging port on a macbook.).. But of course they do the nonsense argument that you need special tools, and it is unsafe, and many kittens will die.

Hoi Niels, bij ons is de blender blijkbaar doorgebrand, hij deed helemaal niks meer, zelfs het controle lampje boven de draaiknop brandde niet meer. Ik heb alles zoals in jouw video flink schoon gemaakt, maar zonder resultaat. Het lampje ging niet meer branden, heb ik iets over het hoofd gezien, of was mijn blender verder geen dan de jouwe?

Hoi Sjors, tja het kan van alles zijn natuurlijk. Die van ons ging bij langdurig gebruik wat stinken en zelfs ietsie roken, hij deed het dus nog wel maar niet lekker. Dat klinkt als een ander probleem dan wat jij hebt.

I'm surprised at you Niels, where's your engineering spirit of adventure? The impeller is clearly on the motor spindle, which is removed by detaching the metal spider via the nuts. This is how every pull down I do ever goes anyway, it generally works but I may have "spare" parts left over :D

Very hard to say. Probably 5 years or so, but not used very often. However, we did grind down nuts to make peanut butter, which took a long time, and was probably harder work for the machine than making a fruit smoothie.

I think it is just the fate of medium quality brushed motors, sooner or later they go stinky / bad.. Someone said the new ones use brushless motors, I haven't personally confirmed that though. @@Temporalplace
