Interesting comparison! You can set Resolve to start at 0 as a standard. Out of the box it starts at 1 for ancient reasons, something about tapes. You set it once for all future projects. Now with DaVinci Resolve 17 you can finally sync the separate audio tracks automatically via wave form. That’s one absolute favorite improvement of the new beta.

As I had commented before on your other Magix Videos.. I did buy Magix... Bought new Mo-Bo anf HD Grafics card but could never get Magix to work. Magix Customer service finally refunded when they couldn't fix the problem. Had no problems with Davinci Resolve.....

So you use Davinci Resolve, that's good to know!

Good stuff ,Dave. Does DaVinci have Color Matching (to match different cameras and/or scenes? And ... does it do Multi-Cam and well? And, and ... one more thing, Dave: how good is DaVinci doing Slo-Mo and video Stabilization??? Thanks, Chuck (NE Florida) : +)

Yes it has Shot Match which is the same as color matching. It has the other things as well.

The fusion panel on davinci is actually pretty awesome once you get accustomed to it. For instance, the lens correction adjustment in the inspector is only available on the paid version, but you can lens correct in fusion easily. Fusion also allows you to make some pretty advanced animated scenes. All for free. There is a learning curve for sure, but its worth it in my opinion. Hope we can get together and fly again sometime. Free time has been very evasive lately for me. :(

Yes I hope the same. Miss getting those flights in! Great that you use Resolve too.

Just started exploring davinci resolve. Very steep learning curve but the basics are easy to get to. I find magix easier to use but it is very slow and clunky. I do like the included excellent prodad mercalli IS but I dread starting the program because it's a lumbering beast, at least on my machine.

I bought Magix based on a few of your older videos. (I think I started with it around 2014) I have upgraded it twice so far, and currently am using the Pro 19 version. I think the upgrade is worth it every 2-3 years. (If for nothing else, to make the begging screen go away at start-up that you pointed out) I have tried the Davinci, as well as a couple other trial versions of software that was a little more than Magix. For me, (and what I do on my channel, - which is RC videos mainly) - Magix is what I found the easiest to learn and produce results that are adequate. It gets the job done for the average person wanting to polish up home videos.... If I was just starting out though (and had a younger brain with a few more working cells) I think I would go with DaVinci - just due to the free price tag....It would be worth learning it then I think. Thanks for your videos.

Subbed you. I think the transition to DaVinci was not too bad because of what I learned from Magix. Once you learn to edit it becomes easier to use other editors because the basic concepts are similar. I remember Magix took me months to learn the basics but now even with my old brain I was able to use what I knew and get going with Resolve in about 3 days. If there was something I didn't know I could find it easily on KZbin.

Man I tired using divini cpu cant handle it. Is there something simple out there . I personally cant sit at a computer for hours . It took me about an hour to make a few minutes video. 😟

Best solution is to buy a gaming computer because they are optimized for video. Or Get a good video card for your present computer then speed up your software by going to Task Manager and giving your video software high priority. But if you must get stuff that runs on slower computers. 1. iMovie (MAC) 2. VSDC 3. Shotcut.org can do the most (not the app on the MS site).

@@DaveMerc wow Dave thanks for all the good information. Is there a particular gaming cpu you would recommend . or have a parts list ? I've been looking at them , but its been awhile since building a desktop system😕so many changes in ten yrs 😲Im sure my kids would be delighted 😂

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. What I did was by a pre-made i7 quad core gaming computer from Best Buy. This is probably not the best deal or even a careful decision, just quick. It seems to work great though. It's got a silly name " I buy power" but it has the horse power and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card which is adequate although you could do better. I used to build my own computers but got lazy this time plus I have found that the warranty is simpler on a pre-made job, although the Geek Squad requires an appointment if something goes wrong. Probably I would just fix it myself, he he.

Thanks for the video! I have been using both Magix and Davinci and honestly Magix is soo much easier !! the fusion builder in Davinci is really difficult! next there is no way to edit 4K videos in Davinci without paying for the upgrade version. Next try to edit 360 videos etc in Davinci ! its terrible. All of this will directly work in Magix
@DaveMerc
@DaveMerc 4 жыл бұрын
resolve 16 does 4k Resolve allows as maximum resolution in your projects Ultra HD (4K), so exporting is also limited to that size. Ultra HD is 3840 pixels horizontal by 2160 pixels vertical.

Because resolve 16 is free and then some Magix is by far the better if asked. Filmora is a lot easier to use over resolve 16. I preferre a program that is Straight out and resolve is not. (for me) IMHO
