*Magix has always been written off as a toy, but it's brilliance is about a high-pressure, high-speed workflow oriented DAW. If you are knowledgeable in theory and better yet, a skilled musician, ripping through a lot of midi sequencing, time based effects processing etc. would allow you to whip up an orchestral masterpiece suitable for commercial release that your client needed yesterday.* Then to an absolute beginner, if they stick it out and learn the ropes of this easy DAW, they can ultimately reach a mastery level. *I'm more than familiar with every piece of equipment, every DAW and play a mess of instruments at beyond the symphonic level, and I still keep using this app for the automation and simplicity of getting things done without 200 clicks in menus and shifting from one module to the next and so on.* Flat out, Magix will not do much for a beginner when it comes using a heavy weight DAW and seeing the in depth CAD layouts and an OEM reverb effect of that DAW is only similar to VST's they are likely to have found online using Magix. They would need to consciously seek out the knowledge, even if they stuck with Magix and got the equivalent in VST's. It's biggest flaw is the object editor cannot let you lasso portions of an object, and apply reverb or a volume swell just to that portion. That's not a big deal.

@@NathanYTNL did you ever give Magix a try? I still praise it but the one thing that infuriated me is they eliminated Beatbox Plus 2 and replaced it with utter garbage called Beatbox 2. They are trying to drum up sales and I suspect the company profits are in the toilet. Beatbox Plus 2 is amazing and I have it on my paid 2016 version. The sequencer and many other features in 2024 are still the best of the best, *but I'm ultimately still using 2016 to build drum sequences that need to be exported as wav files and then dragged-dropped into the 2024. *It's such a fuck up I have to assume they are desperate to make money by any possible means.*

I've been using Magix MM since 05' I have been impressed with the ease of use and functionality. Most of the older versions had a major flaw, constant crashing and losing a project in the process. That doesn't seem to be an issue with the 2022 version. It's great for beginners and hobbyists but can't compare to FL Studios

I use Reason 10 with Nektar's Panorama P1 surface controller, and it's Impact LX49+ keyboard controller. The two intergrate perfectly with Reason. Often times while using the devices you're looking at them and not the monitor. Tactile is an understatement👍🏿 Reason ONLY advanced user here💯

Have been using Magix (Samplitude) for two years now but I am ready to start using another DAW. Magix is by no means intuitive but works pretty complicated. In my experience Magix is extremely prone to crashing and driver issues. Everytime you start it up, yet another problem rears its head that you have to solve first. I cannot count the number of times I had to uninstall and re-install the drivers.... I for one would definitely not advise it!

Complete noob here wanting to make anything music related on the tightest of budgets. Couple of questions, can the free version be monetized and sold as your own? Also is the maker a DAW or more of a hybrid? Lastly.....nice info and vid!
@deviant-noise
@deviant-noise 9 ай бұрын
Thank you and thanks for watching! As far as monetization goes, it all depends on the samples/loops/sounds you use. Some will be royalty free, some won't. But as far as using their instruments (synths, etc) to create your own stuff, yea you can absolutely sell those compositions. Like I said, just be careful about specific sample packs & loops. Read the included docs and licensing agreements. And I would call Music Maker a lite-daw - the little sorta-daw that could. It's nowhere near a high level DAW, but it gets the same jobs done in a lot of ways.

I have 2016 and 2017, and they are both excellent BUT crashy as hell. They also lose the VST effects i've saved with songs. Maybe the new version is much better ? I don't like that they have moved all the loops to take up the right hand side of the screen. It always used to be BELOW the workflow. Can you drag and drop the loops window to be below the workflow ? I also hate that intrusive STORE box, and hope you can close it ?
@deviant-noise
@deviant-noise 9 ай бұрын
I don't know if you can specifically change the setup to the old workflow, but I do know the software interface is at least semi customizable. You can try configuring it with the free version. And yea, the store is kinda intrusive

Hello, have interested in making my own music that is of motion picture OST quality and soubd. [most software I've seen demonstrated on KZbin tend to sound like toys not actual orchestra theme music ] similar for example Star Wars, Mission Impossible or The Lord Of The Rings; yeah I'm jumping ahead but get the idea. I know nothing of how to get started an yes am on a budget. Are there step by step tutorials for absolutely beginners? I tend to get very frustrated. I always wanted to learn ;however, years of waiting for the right software or step by step tutorials to learn is... again frustration which is why I tended to avoid. It also doesn't do me good if there is no one to teach me music...again frustration! I'm starting to now learn the CGI free software called Blender [again years of waiting finally its got to the point in which there are actual tutorials to learn which is why I put that off...again frustration. I don't want to be using someone else's music for obvious reasons such as licensing to use. Your advice will be appreciated.

We do have a complete beginner's guide to making instrumentals using FL Studio here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGa0iGyvoN6gfaM. But you'll notice that it still sounds "toyish" but that's because of the sound selection. The same concepts will apply to whatever type of music you want to make, but you'll have to spend money on sound libraries - Native Instruments is a company that makes fantastic sounding virtual instruments (including orchestral ones like brass, strings, choirs, etc) so I'd start there. As for software, they all work very similarly, but I think Hans Zimmer specifically uses Cubase - hope that helps!
