I was the first female student to become ASE certified at that specific career school and my parents wear it as a badge of honor. Anything over like 16k is definitely help from parents. I personally have put about 6.5k into my truck that I fucking hate, at age 15, because I worked since a month after I turned 14. That’s working around 12 hours a week during school and 30 hours during the summer. It’s not impossible if you have a good work ethic to attain. 15k car by the end of your senior year on your own if you work your ass off

I was born in 1956 and grew up with the best of cars and music. My first car at 16 was a 1970 mustang Mach 1. It had a 351C engine and a Hurst 4 speed transmission. It was a chick magnet. My car payment was less than 100 a month and had no problem paying it with my part-time job during school. Made enough for dates and riding around. Not like today money was worth more back then before corporate greed kicked in big time like now. I mean im in my first year of college and i drive a 2020 330i xdrive, it was just under 24k and i paid my down payment alone, make my monthly payments alone, insurance alone, maintainance, gas, mods, etc. And its still under 35% of my income all combined while being a full-time student and thankfully im blessed with being able to live with my parents rent free for now, but it can definitely be done.
