For me, this is the type of content that is really inspiring! You guys really ministered to me today. When you're good. You're good, Larry Bird. Chivalry with William Marshall and Aragorn son of Arathorne! What a magnanimous episode!

Just once I'd love to hear Glen finish an idea without getting dragged into the weeds by his co-hosts. Not that the weeds aren't interesting, guys, but good grief, please TRY to stay on topic! Aragorn was, for Tolkien, a type of Jesus, wasn't he? The great king, bringing back the glory days of Men in the West. Spot on about how it should work. Wish our politicians would take this to heart!

There is no delineation in Scripture between categories of pride. Not withstanding false humility, characterized by your Mickey Mantle example, Larry Bird, and numerous other luminaries in sports, are not positive examples because they routinely exhibited prideful arrogance. Even your example of Bird's renouncement of submitting to the junior positioning (i.e., submitting to, as you termed it, hazing), demonstrated this very arrogance, having nothing to do with his prowess on the court or a false denial of that prowess. There is a clear difference between pridefulness and standing up for oneself in the face of injustice, as demonstrated by Tom's anecdote regarding his father.
