Make sure you add on there that it was possible for people to still use the sidewalk even with all that metal junk piled up there. The people who wanted to actually walk across the bridge would have to walk in the streets to get around your pile of junk in 5 gallon buckets. Maybe you should try and pick a bridge that's not heavily used. Bryce acting like a fool to the police does not help.

Karen. First thing,you politely ask the Karen kops what statue it is that says No Fishing on THAT bridge. There won't be one. Then you should've asked if they were giving you a "lawful order" to leave the bridge. After that, ask for a Supervisor. The Sargeants are usually more knowledgeable of the law. Just a couple of small town cops pushing their "weight around". Since you had all 4 of you there and video evidence I wouldn't have left. It's public property. You can go down and file a complaint. I hate abusive police like that.

Supreme Court has determined that public safety isn't any of the police department's concerns! Unless a citizen is breaking the laws, they need to leave y'all alone. You were on a public bridge, not impeding traffic, doing a public service, and a person can not be trespassing on public property. She just didn't feel that you should be there and was being overprotective. It wasn't any of her concern, and she needed to mind her own gd business. When did we start hiring feelings police? She needed a whambulance! It is your right to choose to take the risk of magfishing off the side of the bridge just as it's the officers choice to wear that badge and gun. She made a choice of a potentially dangerous career and can choose to hang it up at any time. Should we be getting on her every time we feel she is doing something dangerous? Make it make sense!

I had a citizen call the cops on me on a public road. The cop tried to claim I was trespassing. I didn't want it to escalate (and I wasn't finding anything), so I left. They asked for my ID. I had nothing to hide so I gave it to them. I wish I hadn't. They had no right to ask unless I was suspected of a crime. I support the police but not police egos.

The female officer was probably just trying to keep everyone safe but, in the process, may have overstepped her boundaries if there was no violation of any law(s). Police officers aren't perfect, and they make mistakes, like we all do. As a retired law enforcement officer and supervisor, if I were you, I would have called that PD and complained about the female officer's mistake, so she learns from the situation, and you aren't bothered by her in the future during your magnet fishing.
