In Rhodesia many years ago the bar at the Rio Tinto club at Cam and Motor Mine Gatooma was made from old planed teak sleepers. It was bolted together using the sleeper bolts that had been nickle plated. Really attractive. Sadly, I think the place burnt down

You need to get permission on private land. Don't think it's allowed on property controlled by Canal and River trust. Just be respectful with it and you'll be fine 👍😀

Hex bar stock is most probably a stainless steel mix alloy if it was pure stainless steel it would not be magnetic
