F1 and F2 are not equal so you can't write F1=F2 the change in volume is same you can write V1=V2 which is A1×D1=A2×D2 NOR A1 AND A2 IS EQUAL NOR D1 AND D2 NOR F1 AND F2 hope this helps

Thank you for your comment! You are correct that in the textbook, the value for F1 is given as 1470N. However, we got 2250N when we did the calculation. The difference is due to the fact that we used a different value for g. We used 9.8 m/s^2 instead of the value given in the textbook.
