We are going to use this in our evening prayer. Maybe you want to pray it with us! Sr. Juliett and I took clips from the movie, "The Nativity Story," a beautiful rendition of the lives of Mary and Jesus.

Last year I had a dream, my son and I entered a church, a priest was staring at us...I don't know if he's mad, we transferred on the left side we walked a stair, three steps...we sa a nun kneeling almost touched her belly to a pedestal, then a flash of light with a figure and in my mind it was mama Mary then someone shouted, "Magnificat Magnificat" I am a 60 yrs old man, never went to church, I don't even know Magnificat means, I googled it, when I wake up, I wrote everything...and I remembered so well...

Beautiful song, but the movie is portraying Mary incorrectly. Mary, by ancient traditional, and more importantly, by her response to the angel Gabriel, indicates she was not interested in having a husband. So the innocent flirting would not have occurred. Tradition tells us she was dedicated to God as a baby by her most holy parents in thanksgiving for ending her family's shame of St. Anna's barrenness. . She entered the Temple at three and left when "she came of age", around 13. Moreover,. Joseph was NOT a young man, but an older man and a widower. The Temple elders picked Joseph to be her protector and to take care of her. The Orthodox church explains this in detail.

St.Joseph is not an old man.. It was proclaimed in the early days that he might be old so that people will not doubt on Mary's virginity. Long gone are the days we need a reason to believe that Mary is a virgin because Joseph is old. According to the tradition .. both St Joseph and Mother Mary had taken a vow of virginity and were praying for the Messiah to come . They were United for a purpose . They had a love purer than what we can understand now. As mother Angelica states' Old man can't run to Egypt ' ..let's change our views and picturization of St. Joseph the Chaste spouse of Blessed Virgin Mary.

It is worth noting that the lives of Mary and Jesus were shown to an Italian mystic named Maria Valtorta who was given, first hand, in the 1940's and 50's, a tremendous amount of information, also with comments by Jesus and Mary as "pointers" to what was said, meant etc. Worth a read. Joseph was an older man from the Davidic line, as was Mary ( the house of David) and had taken a vow of chastity yet was picked to be Mary's spouse because a branch of a shrub, which he took from home of Mary's parents went into bloom thus giving the sign to the temple officials that he had been chosen by God to be her spouse. When Mary went to the birth of John the Baptist and came back obviously pregnant Joseph underwent a hard time for three days until told by an Angel that Mary was expecting the Messiah who was to be named Jesus. 08/04/2121

@@ianrobinson8974 I read in a book called 'Life of Mary ' as seen by mystics ..a compilation of works from Mary of Agreda and Catherine of Sienna..and so many doctors of church like St. Bernard etc... There it was given Joseph was older than Mary ..He was 33 -35 years old .. whereas Mother Mary was just 14 when she got engaged to Joseph..

Paul Melody, your interpretation is how Catholics are taught. By Jewish standards, flirtation, more or less depicts characteristics of loose women and is frowned upon. Catechism of Catholic Church had always characterized Blessed Mother as Pure, Virtuous, and, Holy. Free thinkers are prone to portray Blessed Mother as a follower of Trends, however, .... ... God ‘has found favor with her, for she is “FULL OF GRACE.” God had preserved her from the Whims and Wiles of the world. “For He has looked with Mercy on my Lowliness and my name will be forever exalted.” Holy is His name. No Flirtation for the Pure, Virtuous, and Holy. 🙏

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed[b] to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:26-27 . I don't know what Bible you're reading but Mary & Joseph were engaged
