I was looking for this comment, that moment was precious, beautiful and Heartbreaking at the same time.. If there's one thing I learned in life; the people you least expect, will cause the biggest hardships and betrayals.. But also.. The people you least expect, will be your comfort when such occurs.. Because nothing is black and white.. Life's complex, so are we.. This television drama, although fiction, depicted that beautifully through out the story, with this moment being one of the highlights..

The performances and directing are so incredibly perfect. The conflict in Ahmed's memories, duties, and decisions against the love and mutual respect is what brings heart to the situation with Dervish. This shows in the understanding shown between the last moments between Dervish and Handan and certainly when Ahmed remembers the request of Dervish to die at his sultan's hand. That Ahmed honored that request shows a level of honor in both men, regardless of the complexity of their relationship.

Yes,I agree. They executed the internal conflict of Ahmed commendably. I wish he didn't kill Dervish for the sake of his kingdom-Dervish loved him and was a barrier to all the flood water, but I understand why he did kill him. Though now I think the king will experience a lot of loss

You know things are bad when bulbul is willing to hug poor Haci agha. I’m really glad they added that in, as it just cements the sadness of the scene. I love that even when you don’t like a character, the show can make you feel for them in moments like that (as in I didn’t like Handan Sultan but I did cry in those moments)

Handan Sultan, Velide of Ahmed I died of natural causes after a long illness. She supported Dervish Pasha, but there was not any relationship between them other than political matters. I accept that the script writers takes some liberties for the sake of the rating, but tarnishing the memory of an innocent women is too much. She acted as Regent because Ahmed was only 13 year old when was enthroned. And she protected his son during the first years and provide him with good ministers and councilors. When she died, she was put to rest beside her husband. His son Ahmed was 15 years old when she died.

This series can never be popular like its predecessor bolem sultan Suleiman..actors are too naive and don’t follow the same characteristic like the previous sultans…no respect and no order of hierarchy…simply looks like somebody gave them a script one fine day and they were like let’s do it..I bet this actors didn’t even watch the previous series to the sequel hence the disorder…Halit and urzerlis chemistry can never be matched by this Ahmed and kosem…just looking at them act I can’t find the true love which should be felt when I watched the previous series

With all do respect.. In my opinion BETTER than usa films.. Without a doubt MUCH better.. This is a complex story with depth beyond what most can comprehend.. Emotional, empathic, sometimes familiar.. With a lot of wisdom shared, making people think.. Even though it's fiction/television.. For some reason usa is not capable of delivering the same.. Even if a film is meant to touch Hearts, it never really does on this level.. I've seen Europe do it, Asia do it.. Never saw usa do it..

I must give it to Ahmed actor he is really good with emotional scenes. In general i feel that emotions are the only thing that is actually done better in Kösem (only 1.season) than in old MC. Nobody of Ahmed's family truly love him, aside from his Mother. He got betrayed by everybody, they all plot against him. From his own father to his grandmother Safiye and his aunts Fahriye and Humashah and even his little sister Dirluba. I really pity him. Power cost him his relatives.
