What beautiful countryside. As an American this is a very different style of hunting. Having your shotgun loaded for you and all. Very much a wealthy hunt. Great video!

As a teen I used to beat on a few local shoots and the most expensive was £1600 for a spot on one of the gun pegs! No surprise seeing the shooters with custom bars in the trunks of their range rovers loaded with gin! ;)

Well shot, Dave. Great selective shooting and it is always a pleasure to see a keeper demonstrate his skills by driving the birds differently when the conditions dictate but still making sure there's plenty of shooting across the line.

Another superlatively beautiful shoot Dave. Those birds were all at expert + levels on the wind and you're shooting them as well as I've seen in any of your videos. The doubles on that third drive, especially at 9:40 were just classic. Our season will be ramping up soon and I can't wait. Thanks for this one, take care and best regards as always, Ed

Well done dave an epic display of shooting in difficult conditions. You hit upon a point of the shot string being pushed of course with the wind.if it can move a bullet it can definitely move shot .the shot string must move like a banana in very trying conditions. You are top class shot to be able to pull birds down regularly in those conditions against the laws of physics. Good man keep them coming.

Great video Dave on a beautiful estate. My usual question, what choke and cartridge combination> How do you propose to tackle the really high birds with just half choke and steel? Keep em coming mate, Cheers
@WilliamSirman Жыл бұрын
One observation that may be controversial, but I make it to be helpful, People don't bend well in certain ways! When one holds a shotgun with the C-Grip (Holding the side of the forearm), and you are swinging high to the right, it retards the swing of the gun! Modern forearms are much narrower than they used to be, and it has become quite fashionable to grip the forearm from the side and not from the bottom as we used to do many years ago (I still do by the way and have a better than average hit ratio as well). I believe that many would say that I am an instinctive shot (Churchill School), as one may say! The side-saddle grip (C-Grip) has become extremely popular in practical rifle shooting as well! Why, I simply do not (Maybe someone saw it on a video game and thought that it looked cool) know! Simple mechanical physics dictate that it is much easier to hold a somewhat heavy object from the bottom than it is from the side! I do agree that one looks much more Avant-garde when holding the forearm by the side, but confidentially, you've been sold a "Faux-de-Fad!"

If you had perhaps listened to the commentary on the second drive I do explain 😉
@peterbalac1915 Жыл бұрын
A touch of premature Texulation maybe 🙄 price of shooting these days you will soon be shooting naked 😂
@TomBarratt-rd7gf Жыл бұрын
@@peterbalac1915 No premature textulation. In the UK it is customary and traditional to dress smartly as a mark of respect to the quarry that you are shooting. You will note the other guns in the film are wearing collared shirts and in most cases ties. Its part of the fabric of a days shooting, If you can’t dress appropriately perhaps you should be doing something else. You will note it is only in the last few videos that Mr Carrie has begun to dress down.
