I am going to miss Bali Bey. In the last episode, when he brings Hurrem to the palace, his eyes speak a lot. It is as if he is trying to say that his duty to the Emperor is over and now he is leaving for ever. And then his turning around and riding away is like a painful farewell.

I think it's great he left. I also think he understands now, the Sultan loves his Haseki Hurrem Sultan so much and he can see everyone fighting, he can see why one side thinks Sultan Suleiman is influenced by his wife and on the other side a woman fighting her own path, one who loves the Sultan VERY much. There is no space for him there, it will affect his duty to be involved in the dramas. Mirhimah Sultan, Helping Shah Sultan and therefore Hatice Sultan with the gold, seeing what Hatice Sultan did to Hurrem Sultan, etc... He also has felt the sting of lost love and I think he just couldn't be there anymore.

One thing i liked abt meryem/the old hurrem were her expressions. Her laughter, smile, mischievous looks, anger, mocking expressions etc and she simply played all her emotions perfectly, just like the real hürrem was rumored to be but this hürrem always has a blank/serious face which is one of the reasons i dont really prefer her…some ppl might say she’s better bc “she’s acting her age” or whatever but that’s just not how hürrem was which is why it doesn’t suit her imo. Plus i wish they found a younger actress bc i know she’s the perfect age for her character but bc of that she has no chemistry with suleiman, everyone around her is so much younger just with some makeup to make them look old and it feels like suleiman is her son, not her husband…anyways, the show will never be the same without meryem no matter how good the actresses play her and that’s simply bc hürrem’s role was made for meryem

I think Memet would be sultans choice to rule after him but since he is dead, the obvious son would be Mustafa. But if Mustafa sits on the throne, Hurrem and her children would eventually be murdered, no matter what promises Mustafa gave to his brothers. Though I dislike Mahidevran for ordering Mehmet's death in this series, my heart breaks for Mustafa who remained loyal to Suleiman despite the Sultan's allegation of betrayal of Mustafa. It was Mahi's wrong decisions and huge ambition that led to Mustafa's downfall. She made sure that the soldiers pledged their loyalty to Mustafa and that loyalty spelled his son's downfall. I pity Mustafa because all he ever wanted was to make his sultan father proud of him and love him as much as the Sultan loved Mehmet. 😭

The real life story is actually more romantic. Suleyman did marry Hurrem after his Valide died, but after that when he married Hurrem, he freed all his harem concubines and married some off to his officials. Hurrem then moved into Suleymans quarters. And paved the way for future concubines to be married.

I love meryem's hurrem so much but after watching the series a few times I don't find this transition jarring. In fact it feels appropriate after mehmet's death, an aged mother, a powerful and regal queen, ruthless just by the look. The older actress was rocking the role especially after Mustafa's death. She has that regal bearing and subtly threatening attitude. The hurrem before kidnapping was a wild cannon and fierce. This one is just as threatening, but in a quieter way.

Finished this series last 2 years and kept coming back to watch. What I don't understand is that these people kept on whining about the change in Hurrem's actress without even knowing the real reason. Meryem Uzerli had to give up the role for the 4th season because she suffered from a burnout, she was pregnant during the filming and airing of the series. She needed rest and medication. Ofcourse, took me a quiet time to adjust with Vadide Percin as Hurrem but she made me appreciate her for taking the challenge of how Meryem gave a marvelous impact with her portrayal of Hurrem. Research is free guys, don't just throw hate to Meryem nor Vahide for the changing of characters without even trying to know what had happened.

What I've read in the comments, was that vadide was supposed to play the older Hürrem, but much later.. And that she was on set since season 2 to learn how meryem played the role.. And that because of the circumstances she was introduced into the show earlier, because she was actually already preparing for the role.. There's an awful lot we seem to miss out on between episodes 103 & 104, which never gets explained (so far, at least). We never get to find out what happened to Hurrem during all the time she was "missing". One tiny scene in one of the episodes indicates that she was being held captive somewhere, but at the end of episode 103, she has obviously been found by Bali Bey (as a result of his investigations) & returned to the palace. But in episode 104, there is no explanation anywhere of what happened to her, & none of the other characters seem interested enough to be asking that question of Hurrem herself either - not even her own children - & life just goes on as though nothing at all had happened to her. It's all a big mystery still.

@@malinigowda Yes - I was also surprised when Hurrem indicated that she had suspicions of Mahidevran's involvement in Mehmet's death - which previously we were given to understand that everyone thought it was just due to the virus he had contracted. Although he had been deliberately infected with the virus at Mahidevran's request/order - that was not generally known. The virus itself was very serious & many other people in the community had died from the virus - but Mehmet somehow was the only person at the palace to become infected with it - which is unusual. So maybe that is what had raised Hurrem's suspicions that Mehmet may have been deliberately infected with the virus, & of course the prime suspect would have been Mahidevran as the instigator. But maybe Hurrem had not previously mentioned her suspicions, because she had no proof to back up those suspicions.

Ibrahim is a greedy ambitious while suleyman is alive he support suleyman and hes already powerful but he also support mustafa more coz mahidevran poisoned and corrupted also the mind of ibrahim that he will become more powerful is mustafa sit on the throne bcoz mustafa and mahidevran is can easily control or manipulate of ibrahim unlile hurrem and suleyman ibrahim cant control them both also ibrahim didnt answer hurrem if ibrahim can protect her children thats when the time hurrem want to be powerful and fight back all of them who sided with mustafa and mahidevran.

Vahide Percin's portrayal of Hurrem is way closer to the historical Hurrem Sultan. Meryem portrayed Hurrem in a very cartoonish way, (her overreacting became very annoying in season 3), but Vahide portrays her like she was in real life: intelligent, powerful, wise, elegant, majestic, magnificent. Not to mention Vahide looks like an actual queen, while Meryem looks like a rebel in a royal dress. I think both actresses did a great job, but if you are interested in historical accuracy, Vahide beats Meryem very easily.
