War of the Prince begins on the Magnificent Century! Bayezid gets relegated to Amasya but he controverts Suleiman's order and doesn't leave Kütahya. He declares a war against Selim and gathers soldiers. Suleiman gets shocked by his son's decision and tries to control his anger. Mihrimah faces off against her father to be able to protect Bayezid. Meanwhile, Selim waits for Suleiman's edict in a fright.
Mihrimah goes to Kütahya to convince Bayezid but she gets shocked by what she sees. She hides the truth from Suleiman as she understands that the war is fated. Bayezid advances upon Selim with his army being unaware of the betrayal awaits him. Suleiman sends back up for Selim and gets given fetwa for Bayezid's killing. The armies of the two princes meet in Konya Plains.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

What was Bayazid thinking on the show or on history? Even more in history. He openly rebelled against Selim thus opposing (indirectly) Sultan Suleiman. If Hurrem sultan was alive Bayazid or Selim would never dare to start war openly. They would be against each other, but never civil war.

This is what Bayazid needed to do to become sultan: 1. First and foremost- stay always on Sultan Suleiman’s side, always agree with him even when you don’t agree. Always apologize if he is angry on you, because he is Padisah and you have no one except him. 2. Don’t rebel against Selim openly when Suleiman is alive. Wait until his death. After that with the janissaries dethrone Selim and exhile him. That’s all he needed to do and he did what? Lmaooo

I understand that while in real life Bayezid rebelled the show did a poor job in explaining why: Suleiman was kinda disappointed with both Selim and Bayezid at this point he didn’t favour one for the other also Bayezid had nonexistent support so why did the writers decide to butcher his character like that 😞

Well sadly same happened in history after Hurrem’s death, with the only difference that Selim did not kill Bayezid or his sons. And shame on you, Suleiman, you literally begged and bribed Persian Shah to kill your own son 🤦🏻‍♀️ “Suleiman was in his 60s, and the competition between the two brothers over the throne was evident. Suleiman scolded his sons and decided to change their places of duty. Bayezid was assigned to rule Amasya and Selim to Konya, both provinces being further from Constantinople but still equidistant. Selim was quick to obey and promptly moved to Konya, but to the dismay of his father, Bayezid obeyed only after much hesitation. Angered, Suleiman accused Bayezid of being a rebel and supported his elder son Selim against Bayezid. Selim, in collaboration with Sokollu Mehmet Pasha (the future grand vizier) and with additional help from his father's army, defeated his brother in a civil war at Konya in May 1559. Bayezid returned to Amasya and escaped to the Safavid Empire with his sons and a small army. According to journalist and historian researcher Murat Bardakçı, Sokullu Mehmet Pasha sent an army after Bayezid, which was defeated by Bayezid's forces. In the autumn of 1559, he reached the Safavid town of Yerevan, where he was received with great respect by its governor. Some time later, he reached Tabriz, where he was welcomed by Shah Tahmasp I. Although Tahmasp I initially wholeheartedly and lavishly welcomed Bayezid, including giving magnificent parties in his honour, he later jailed him on the request of Sultan Suleiman. Both Suleiman and Selim sent envoys to Persia to persuade the shah to execute Bayezid. For the coming one and half year in fact, embassies would continue to travel between Istanbul and Qazvin. On 16 July, what would be the last of the Ottoman embassies would arrive, whose formal task, like the previous embassies, was to try to return Bayezid to Istanbul. As stated by Prof. Colin P. Mitchell, this included Hüsrev Pasha (the governor of Van), Sinan Pasha, Ali Aqa Chavush Bashi, and a retinue of two hundred officials. In the letter that was given with the embassy, Suleiman also declared his readiness to reconfirm the Treaty of Amasya (1555) and to begin a new era of Ottoman-Safavid relations. Suleiman, throughout the embassies, also gave Tahmasp numerous gifts. He also agreed with Tahmasp's demand to pay him for handing Bayezid over (400,000 gold coins were given. Finally, on 25 September 1561, Bayezid and his four sons were handed over by Tahmasp and executed in the environs of the Safavid capital Qazvin by the Ottoman executioner, Ali Aqa Chavush Bashi, through the way of garrotting. They were laid to rest in Sivas.”

Bayazid made same mistakes as Mustafa and paid for it. Suleiman warned him many times, but he never listened.

Bayezid is best example that even if your parents are smartest strategist Hurrem Sultan and most powerful Padishah Suleiman, you can still turn to be🤡🗑️

Sadly that's what mihrimah did in real life, she supported Beyazid despite her mother wish to support selim for throne but protect Beyazid as much as she can. Instead she fully supported Beyazid. Sad.

Bayezid was treated wrong by his father . His brother was bad one only one saw it was there mother once she was gone that was it for whole family she was the glue 1000000000%.

Well, Mirimah...now you can possibly understand how your aunts were feeling whenever their brother casted them aside in favour of your mother. Now it's up to you to choose which aunt you will be: the neutral one (Beyhan), the dead one (Hatice), or the defanged and exiled ones (Sah and Fatma). I suggest you choose wisely

@Leo Actually she wasn't neutral.Historically she really supported Bayezid.She gave him money for rebelion,and when Suleiman had found about this,they had an argument and didn't talk for a while.However he didn't punish her like Mahidevran,because Mihrimah was his daughter.Mihrimah also refuse to talk with Suleiman when she had heard that he had executed Bayezid and his sons. And during the execution,Suleiman in the capital had married Selim's daughters, Bayezid's daughters and Shah(daughter of Mustafa)to statesmens in 1562,the same year when Bayezid was executed. And Mihrimah refuse to come to the wedding ceremonies, and forbid celebration in the harem. But later her relationship with Suleiman and Selim improved.But she was more powerful irl,than in the series. And literally nothing of that is shown.

What were thinking Bayezid both in the show and history? Mustafa didn't open a revolt to Suleiman but he was executed for his mistakes. And then Bayezid decide to make a revolt to eliminate Selim and think that Suleiman will name him heir? Before learning Bayezid I have elected the Tsarevich Alexei ( son of Peter I) , Charles X , Nicolas II as one of the most stupid personnality in royality ( among other members). But now sehzade Bayezid outclassed them in idiocy by far in this ranking.

She didn't 'end her sons'. She tried to protect them. And if you notice you'll see she tries to keep them as separated from her conflicts as possible during their childhoods. It was as adults that she warned them of the danger that Mustafa's accession would have posed for them.
