Its very hard to know what exactly was her relation with Murad and how it evolved. But she was always with him. Back in Suleiman time, there was no official Valide Sultana. And the Harem was not at the royal palace. So...of course, there was nothing like this. Answering your question. This was about being near the court and near where all main politics were going on. Its not like they could not invite important people to the Old Palace. They absolutely could. But, you know....if all high state officials come to royal palaca, that´s the place you want to be in order to get influence. This is something which changed with Nurbanu Sultana. And its how and when a Valide Sultana became a political job. Now, in real life, Murad never sent Kosem away. But that´s another story. She was sent away later in life. And she had been sent away during the Mustafa / Osman / Mustafa period.
