Murad really screwed Gevherhan over. First he executes her husband after he visited them like everything was fine, then he refused to let her leave the palace to grieve in peace, and then he marries off the man that he knows she's in love with, and that loves her too, to her own sister while setting up a marriage for her that she doesn't want. He might as well have stabbed her in the heart himself. And Atike, oh my God, she's beyond annoying. I love how Farya basically tells her to quit pretending to be sad because she got exactly what she wanted.

@@shirereeve287 I have watched that scene over and over. No one would dare stand up to a Sultan the way she did. And at least Farah cries real tears. Other actresses don't. I saw a program with the actress who played Hurrem and she said that before each scene that required crying, they would put eye drops in their eyes so they would look like they were really crying. When we cry, our eyes, nose, and face turn a red/pink color and our nose runs. Notice how only 'tears' appear in one eye? And they do not run down their faces as fast as real tears, either.

I think Murad made the right decision for his sisters keeping their characteristics and his dynasty in mind. Gevherhan is matured and had gone through hardships and has a hold on herself. But Athike isn't. She is immature. Murad married off athike to silhatar because he knows athike is kiddish and will kill herself and also he needs silhatar near him as he is trust worthy. Marrying silhatar to his family will make silhatar his family and silhatar will be more loyal. Marrying off gevharhan to kemankes was also good as he wanted kemankes to be closer to him as a family breaking off Mehmet pasha with gevharhan as he has not much been around the palace or near murad but always away. He was good being away and conquering other places than marrying Mehmet pasha to gevharhan. Wow what thinking these kings do.
