Magnolia Tree Bubble Wrap Reverse Dip: Easy Fluid Art Tutorial For Beginners

Hello from Slovenia again!
To create a stunning magnolia tree abstract painting using the bubble wrap and reverse dip technique, start by preparing your canvas and paints. Choose a variety of colors that mimic the natural hues of a magnolia tree. Cut a piece of bubble wrap to the size of your canvas. Apply your base color to the canvas, then pour other colors in the shape of a tree. Gently place the bubble wrap onto the canvas. Press lightly, then lift the bubble wrap to reveal your magnolia tree. This method is perfect for beginners looking to explore fluid art.

I especially like the effect the bubble wrap had on the grass and tree trunk; It’s really beautiful. The grass reminds me of crocus and daffodils in early spring. 🥰 Fiona, would you consider an experiment lifting the bubble wrap from the bottom of the painting ? Love the look! Like the added green and the way the tree appears to be standing in a field. I think you are right about using dots instead of lines of paint in the tree. Might look more like blooms that way. But overall very pretty!

Fiona….just a thought….maybe try pulling the bubble wrap off in different directions. Like…you could cut it into strips and pull in all different directions maybe 🤷‍♀️. I think that would be really cool!

You might try making your grass uneven instead of straight across. Also you may want to try using a small balloon kiss in the grass to look like flowers. Just some ideas☺️👍I think the tree is just beautiful.❤️

Oh my! I have to try this Fiona! It’s so surreal looking! Just gorgeous. Right I’m going to do it now! You are the best! If you do wish to change it, have you thought of using a palette knife to bring in some shape to the ends of the trees or a little a little patterned embellishment tool! I absolutely love it as it is though 🤗❤

That's pretty cool Fiona. Have you tested different sizes of bubble wrap to see the difference? The stuff I happen to have is much smaller bubbles, but I'll try it.
