I have the s980. The board is a Galaxy 99v clone. If I remember correctly the other mic port is for CW.

Two very good radios, I'd be hard pushed to choose one.. that's a nice touch with the two microphone inputs having one each side.. When the UK skips comes back next month listen out for me and my friends on 27.415 lsb, my friends are Drew NY202 Upstate New York and Gazza VT802 Vermont.. we always make the qso on there and would love to make the contact with you.. 26DX444 Glen Nottingham England UK.

Hi Glen, yes it is a tough choice to make. I like them both🙂. One has better receive, the other has better transmit. I am leaning more to the Cobra and you will see why on the next video, were I will do a review on the Cobra. I will definitely monitor 27.415 from now on, for sure. I got the same radio put a RX75 on it she pushes 78 watts, and yeah the echo is fun.

Hi Stephen, the first version of this radio can only do 12 to 14 watts only. The second gen are the ones with the 40 watts
