So 5 one week long tournaments next year with lot of prize money. Players who will be a part of this tour will be confused whether to take this seriously or qualify to the candidates by playing the regular chess. fide circuit spot has to play 7 tournaments (with lot of requirements). world cup is another long stressful tournament. Players will have to make a choice whether to follow Magnus or follow FIDE. Hopefully its not the Kasparov-Fide split situation once again.

Wait, if top 3 classical rated players barring the players who have already qualified (Magnus and Fabi) are invited for the next tournament, Arjun should have been invited. Did they ignore him for some reason or did he decline the invite? I find it hard to believe that he would decline such an invitation (Unless he has already accepted another invitation in the same month).
