Sometimes I think Carlsen loses on purpose the first game... only to win afterwards with several points ahead. This guy is truly the GOAT.

I wonder if he ever reveals his true thoughts and strategies because he’s so competitive. He probably struggles to be completely honest with direct questions about certain aspects of chess.

i think he underplays the natural/trained memory advantage he has over many players. If there's aspects of games he has seen you are already catching up.

Magnus has an insane pattern database and therefore is extremely intuitive,he definitely isn't as good as MVL,Anand or Kasparov at calculation He just doesn't need to

The number of people who REALLY understand his train of thought is in the few hundreds. Worldwide. To those it might be mindblowing. Probably a few thousand in the „sort of“ category. Don’t expect a ton of playing time on that one… Average Joe, which is everyone else including up to IM, will be „He said he didn’t really know, he’s a real character sometimes…“

Carlsen sounds less convincing than Hans Niemann, when Carlsen was ruining his career because Niemann dared beat him. He talks as if he's looking at a game played by someone or something else, look at the facial expression! He plays well, but how does he do it? Was Dad in the audience again? He even jokes about it at 5:45 "These are just positions that engines understand so much better than we do." Who was thinking of engines? Then "I was not intending to take on b6." "Why not?" "I don't know ..."
