Theory crafting here. I am assuming he has ways to watch the game, possibly in real time ( and not the time delayed version we get) as a chess commentator. And as he follows the game, he analyzes it at the same time. Once the game ends, he immediately proceeds to reveal what he has gathered from watching the game, which allows him to record the video just as the game ends. And since there is probably a time delay in youtube retransmissions, it gives hikary something like a few dozens minutes in "advance" to record and publish his videos. Add to this, that his setup is well managed and you have the making of a very fast videos. just a theory.

He's watching the game live on his streams and interacting with the chat like any normal streamer. But as soon as the game ends and he wants to start the recap, he stops engaging with the chat and acts like he doesn't see it. So, even though this video might seem pre-rehearsed, he actually filmed this in one shot, with people watching him live, without any script or prep. I watched his stream for the first time a few days ago, and it made me realize that streaming is still a profession. The way he instantly switched from being a streamer to a KZbinr and acted like he wasn't seeing the chat was impressive. It's kind of like when actors get into character as soon as they hear "action!" and completely immerse themselves in the role, ignoring the audience. It was really cool to see. Mad respect!

@@agnaldomarques7948 he had at least one winning chance in the wcc 2018 and missed it. You only get one or two rare ones to take from Carlsen and you miss it, then it's the end. Also, one more thing, Caruna had close to 0% chance to win in rapids, so he had to pounce on given rare chances in the wcc classical games. This year in the candidates was again the classic case of choking against Nepo. He had overwhelming advantage but choked under pressure. Great champions raise their game when it matters the most, like Kasparov winning in a must win game against Karpov in the wcc. Caruna is a great player with amazing preparation and discipline but he somehow misses the "thing" to be a wc. For a player of his class, I think sometimes more than chess ability, it's the pressure that gets to him. Aronian is even worse in this regard, for all his talent and enterprising chess, he never even won the Candidates once. Maybe, that's why we just have only 17 wcs in history. They just have better nerves. I have seen so many times Carlsen saved losing games and won equal endings. His opponents simply crumble under pressure.
