Genuine nostalgia looking at this, both Magpie and Blue peter although vying for the same tea time slot, were fabulous programmes, informative, interesting and must see TV for kids back then, I loved the theme tune to Magpie, a kind of rock/soul vibe going on, the three presenters were fab on Breakfast time TV, reminiscing about the show.

He definitely had a look & vibe - helped greatly by his curly mane - of a May crossed with a Bolan. Always looked like he should be on stage with a guitar rather than presenting a children's prog... ;)

Thanks for posting. Jenny Hanley does indeed still look great! Her her mum, Dinah Sheridan was always a very attractive lady too. I have a post on my channel of some old cinema adverts inc. one featuring an 18-19 year old Jenny Hanley (Lyons Cornish Sundae). For those too young to remember; a Cornish Sundae was a luxury ice-cream guaranteed to impress your date. At 2 Shillings (10 pence) it was rather expensive. Your cinema ticket back then would have cost around 6/- (30 pence)!

This is pure TV history,and seeing the three of our childhood presenters naturally ageing through time gives all of us who are age ravaged a little bit of comfort. That Douglas Rae is balding, and Mick Robertson has lost his Brian May lookalike features, and has like myself accepted grey hair they still maintain an air of sophistication. But Jenny Hanley! Even at 61 she is still this 70,s schoolboys dream woman.

It's amazing seeing these kids now all grown up. That woman presenter on GMTV clearly not professional enough to research her clients back-story. Also celebrating the death of Michael Jackson with kid's presenters is a bit unreal given the association with Jackson's unacceptable face...

@StanPomeray dare I ask what your parents look like, or other relatives of a similar age? Guess what? They used to look younger. A science lesson for you. People either get, and naturally look older as time goes by, or they die. Did you expect them to look the same as they did in Magpie? Do you look the same now, as you did when this episode of Magpie was shown?

I bought Micks record back then called "The Tangos Over" not sure if it was a hit but I did like the song and only recently started collection records again and I picked up a copy of this complete with picture sleeve too, I wonder if Micks got a copy lol.
