Priya you seems to be sane person. Do you think practices prevalent are not a burden for the parents to endure. Spending extravagantly on some foolish cultural things are uncalled for. Just think how a poor or that matter even a middle class parent go through in the marriage of their daughter and sons. Simple ceremonial events would suffice and in this way the parents can be relieved of their responsibilities.

And yet most of the you tube podcasts are from muftis and muslims and they are earning money from it. Protection from hindu culture is even simpler.
