The oldest part of the castle is the base of the tower house itself. Built around 1420. The water gate is circa 1611.

There is some beautiful photography in this article, but apart from a few descriptions at the beginning of the video it lacks details of what is being seen as the video progresses. I viewed this as a visitor to the Town, but would have learned a lot more about the Island Town if there had been more descriptions.

When I said I viewed the video as a visitor, it was true. But I am no longer a visitor as I live in Fivemiletown and have for the past three years. Past experience has taught me to learn as much about where you live as possible. I still have much to learn. I watch as many KZbin videos relating to Enniskillen as possible. Your photography took us over the tiny island opposite the Castle jetty. I still do not know the name of that island…surely, it has a name. Looking forward to catching more of your videos……
