Eric Burdon with Aynsley Dunbar, on drums, two legendary Rock /Bluesmen, in Poland playing the full version of Sky Pilot, it doesn't get any better than that .Dunbar is one of the best drummer/percussionists in the world. He appeared on 15 F. Zappa projects, the drummer for Journey on their 3 initial albums, in addition to working with at least 20 more major artists in a career that started in 1961. Sky Pilot references the military Chaplains who must prepare the young soldiers for battle

I listened to the most progressive FM rock station, in the NYC Area, WNEW-FM, and at the time in 1968 played the full version of the song, in which, near the end of the song, the young soldier looks at the Sky Pilot and says to him, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL". The song mentions that after the soldiers go off into the battle zone, the preacher lies in his bed, hoping the men will find courage in the words that he had said to them. This song simply put, is Eric Burdons' indictment against the

the use of airplanes, machine guns, and gas warfare. Chaplains would prepare the troops for trench warfare. This was also the last war that had heavy use of bagpipes. They might have been used at Dunkirk and Normandy, but not after. this video kicked ass; I was very sincere in the beginning when I saluted Burdon, Dunbar and Poland' because if you can't be proud of your heritage, You have no pride at all. I'm a 2nd generation American, of Polish descent. READ FROM BOTTOM UP.

words; THOU SHALT NOT KILL." Sky Pilot, Sky Pilot, How high can you fly, You'll never, ever reach the sky." This song was more of a condemnation , that can go back to the Crusades, if not earlier, where Monks high priests, or some other sort of spiritual leader, would prepare the young soldiers or warriors to go out and fight for their country , or their God, whichever the case might be. Contrary to the people who only heard the 3;45 version of this song and not the almost 8 min. version.

use of God's words or his works by the military or it's spiritual representative, or love of country, by those countries who have outlawed religion, in breaking the laws of both God and man; simply put you aren't allowed to kill. This song was never about the Vietnam war in particular, but war in general. It wasn't a protest against any war in particular, but by looking at the lyrics, it most particularly, criticized the "WAR TO END ALL WARS"; or WWI, which changed warfare forever, with

BAD BAD BAD BAD PERFORMANCE ON THE REMAKE OF THE SONG OR THE STYLE IN WHICH IT IS BEING DONE, SOUNDS STRANGE.
