Just like humans even divine beings had questions to ask from the Buddha. In this sutta, divine beings were wondering what are the highest blessings for a human who is seeking to attain Nibbana. Therefore, one day, a divine being came to the Buddha and questioned this. These blessings are answered by the Buddha in this Maha Mangala sutta which can be practised by anyone from any race, religion, caste and gain enormous blessings by developing great admirable qualities.
