No. That is wrong. Karna was always inferior to Arjun. And he was a student of Dronacharya as well. He learnt all basic Vidyas from Dronacharya. And he even went to fight drupad but lost

Ramakrishna Bhandarkar and Devdutt Patnaik have included a lot of false stories intheir works but the original Srimad Bhagvatam clearly states that even Karan was a student of Gruru Dronacharya, upon been denied the knowledge of Brahmastra abandaoned Dronacharya and when to Bhagwaan Parshuram and lied to him that he has never learned from any teacher. Karan also fought with Drupad where he was made a prisoner after he could not break the Panchmukhi Chakravyuh made by Maharaj Drupad. The Pandavas lead by Arjun managed to break the formation, release the Kauravas and imprison Maharaj Drupad.

Karn ne apne digvijay yatra me akele poore aryavrat ko jeeta tha including Dhrupad. BORI critical edition Dhrupad Yudh me Karn ka naam nahi deta. KMG deta hai but woh interpolation hai kyuki usme karn ko kshatriya kaha gya hai jabki karn kshatriya nhi the. Kshatriya karn gandhari ka putra tha aur duryodhan ka chota bhai tha.

@@Vaikartana24 Actually there is no caste system in original Mahabharata. It was added later, by village pundits. In Mahabharata, its class system. Karna is son of Charioteer, which is not a caste. soodh is not a caste, is a class. His father's boss was Duryodhana's father.

@@Vaikartana24 A lot of stories are added into Mahabharata from various villages but main plot is that Karna had Kavacha, Kundala, Vijaya bow, was a demigod as son of Surya Narayana & vidya from Parashurama himself. This means, he could not be defeated by Drupad, so like in this serial, he was left behind, because he had left Drona due to Drona not teaching him advanced knowledge like he did with Aswathama & Brihenlala. So Karna is not considered his student.

Karan was beaten by a long list of warriors apart from Arjun: Sartaki Bheem Chitrarath Abhimanyu Drupad and many others. He also never stood a single chance against Arjun if the latter unleashed his full force. Arjun was merciful when fighting and hence he did not kill Karan in the Virat Yuddh and saved his life in the Gandharv Yuddh. Karan also gave away his armour to Devraj Indra as he knew that the armour can only save him and he had no weapons that Arjun could not counter leave aside killing Arjun. And hence he took the Vasavi Shakti from Indra. Arjun also had the same shakti but he never would insult his Dev Pita Indra by countering that weapon. Hence Karan decided to cheat by making Arjun face his father's weapon. And Karan was lucky that he never fought Pitamah Bheeshma, Dronacharya, Kripacharya, Ashwathama, Maharaj Shalva and many others else his list of defeats woudl have beren way longer.
