TM is the only meditation that is taught to achieve Samadhi..that's the goal of meditation is in all the writings but most meditations take place on the level of the mind which is not Samadhi. people have a need for experiencing Samadhi as they do for sleep.

Well even though I was thought Siddhi Program in 1993, here later on in life reading your statement, the TM technology is not the only way to experience meditative state, mukti or samadhi (even with several states of samadhi) But understanding the nature of samadhi: sama means equanimity and dhi means "buddhi" intellect. In the course "Science of Creative Intelligence" Maharishi in the tapes from 1972 in one teaching: TM and other systems explains if the mind transcends the relative, it is transcendental meditation and in that view you are right 🎉

I love marshi very much. He very pleasant and sweet voiced. But why maharshi became so weak by age. Is there any person who has achieved significant things by tm. For people like maharshi keeping phisical nature in intact position is not an issue. In the ancient and now a days there are persons with that ability.for. Hanuman in Ramayana is an eternal being, with full strength and vigor. iam not disrespecting marshi. In western countries also there are eternal beings. Maharishi was borned a man who reached the highest state of consciousness I conceive, worth the status of a Maharishi, someone cognizant of Reality and capable of imparting the highest wisdom. During his life work, he absorbed such great and heavy karma from all of us which weakened him. Nevertheless, he lived a very active life which extended over 90 years of age, while being bound by the physical limitations inherent of a human being. What a great life! What a great inspiration! What great deeds! I don’t think it was quite proper to be saying those who don’t practice TM won’t be functioning optimally, basically. It isn’t necessarily necessary to practice TM, though it is a powerful optimizing of brain functioning technology, though it isn’t like the brain can’t be functioning optimally without a TM practice.

* Though I think Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was just trying to be persuasive in trying to infuse that individuals should feel want to be understanding TM and it’s technological benefit (because there is actual Scientific Research/Evidence, to support the optimizing effect that TM has) to the practitioner (and to the surrounding environment), though the thing is, brain optimization isn’t reliant on an individual practicing TM, though I think what he (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi) was cause-no-harm saying in a cause-no-harm-force effort to be like: EVERYONE SHOULD LEARN TM, BECAUSE IT’S A GREAT TECHNOLOGY FOR BRAIN-FUNCTIONING/BRAIN-FUNCTIONING-OPTIMIZATION: was just: that he highly supported that all individuals could learn TM. Is my understanding as to what he was trying to convey in this Video in that part of the Video where he was saying what he was saying regarding that part about how it’s necessary for everyone to learn TM: in my opinion is was basically ‘Motherly’ enforcement/protection: him saying that with such force. That’s just my perspective of it. In that it could only be good, though just infusing it with such force in a protective way, is my understanding of it.

I am attending Maharishi International University as a candidate for their MS in AyurVeda Integrative Medicine. Maharishi had a way of using humor in his explanations, and he received a lot of giggles when he answered the question, "Is TM the only way?" As far as the comment he made that (and I paraphrase): We could all walk to LA right now and get there. But we'd most likely end up there dead." Is his way of stating that yes, there are more than one way to achieve enlightenment through the technology of meditation. But based on the over 600 published studies done on the TM technique, it appears to be the fastest, and easiest means to achieve that state of Pure Consciousness, or Transcendental Consciousness, or Bliss. There is more than one way to skin a cat.... Do you need a quote for that saying, too?
