I would use "submiting" to the promptings or voice of the soul...Surrender has a bit of a negative semantic.....like giving up....etc....the ego , like god etc are not very revealing ,as simbols go...to me the ego is the negative aspect of personality....or a tool necessry to survive in a non enlightened society....the Mata ji certaily has a personality of a beautiful female which she uses to help many people who are wondering about very confused and deceived by that ego....yes is the ego that whitch must claudicate to the promptings of soul...our real being....that faculty wich alous us to experience existence , to think, feel...its like a ridle to be solved....namaskar to the mata ji...❤
