Well, in reality, the "progress" that Consing, Jr raises is simply a mirage because as electrification increases in rural areas, they are not really better off as regardless of how many hours of electricity in rural areas, the net household income (income less expenditure) remains at 1%. Actually, it is negative 1% if it's 24 hours. Yes, people can buy more things and make their lives easier but it doesn't really make them wealthier, it just makes corporations richer. Hence, this Maharlika fund favours the elite and financially advantaged people, creating opportunities for them to be richer. But hey welcome to capitalism.

Hindi ang ang purpose ng MIF ay makapag-generate ng income para sa gobyerno. Bakit sila mag-iinvest sa PUV utilities o broadband connection ng mga maliliit na bayan? Gaano ba kalaki ang income na makukuha kapag ginawa nila yan? Dapat mag-invest sila sa sa mga ore processing plant or still mills para makapag-export that ng high value products. O kaya maginvest sa power generation. Yung PUV Modernization at internet connectivity sa GAA na lang nila kunin ang pagpondo jan. Parang misguided ata ang plano nila sa MIF.

Nakasulat sa website nila na ang MIF ay para mastimulate ang economic growth and development ng bansa. Sa huli na sinabi na kailangan din nila gumawa ng mga profitable na investments. Parang okay naman plano nila na food and energy security at internet connectivity.
