Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. She is just an human-being.. there is a psychological research about two enemies having a bigger enemy, the two enemies would team up if they have no one else to turn to. For example you have an annoying neighbour you hate so much, then one day you travelled to Germany, and you happen to meet the annoying neighbour on the street there, you would automatically be friends, cus both of you are in a strange place at the same time

I only now noticed how "Mahfiruze" sounds like a combination of Mahidevran and Firuze, Hurrem's biggest opponents (Ibrahim aside) a way to commemorate them, maybe? And in a way signify how Kosem has no opponents left to fight with for sultan's love.

I never really understood the whole storyline about Mahfiruz... Why did they have 2 Mahfiruz ? There was the first Mahfiruz (she was the first concubine who slept with Ahmed, but then we never saw her again) and then there was Circassian beauty Rasha who was later renamed Mahfiruz and gave birth to Osman. It was quite confusing because I couldn’t understand why they had to have two different concubines named Mahfiruz.

They didn't have two concubines, just two actresses who played Mahfiruz. The same as Kosem's character was played by 3 actresses.

Mandzia Pandzia Thanks for your reply. But if both actresses were supposed to play the same character, why did Kosem seem so surprised when she met Mahfiruz #2? I remember when Kosem first saw Mahfiruz #2 in the harem, she asked Cennet, « who is she? » and Cennet replied, « this is Circassian beauty Rasha ». This doesn’t seem to make much sense, since Kosem already knew Mahfiruz #1 (who was in the harem long before Kosem arrived at the palace). If both women were supposed to be the same Mahfiruz, Kosem didn’t have to ask who she was, since they already knew each other.
