Mahindra Scorpio-N scores a welcome five star safety rating

The Mahindra Scorpio-N scored five stars for adult occupant protection and three stars for child occupant protection.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N was tested in its basic safety specification fitted with two frontal airbags and ABS. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and side curtain airbags are not standard however curtain airbags are standard in the majority of units produced. The lack of three point seatbelts affected the child occupant protection result, limiting it to only three stars.

I think it's Common sense that Harrier and Safari aren't crash tested because of that issue, because a Flagship model of a Company which tests each and every model that they sell in the market just a few days after launch, not getting tested for 3 years while Mahindra Rivals like XUV 700 and Scorpio N got tested within a short period of time. Hopefully theyll fix it after the Facelift.

@@Red_Dusk Only reason is because of the engine which they outsourced from fiat where in that the engine area will be coming under the driver's leg area once the car hits the frontal impact entire engine oil will be poured on the driver's leg where crash test ratings where based upon how the passengers where safe enough.The facelift of both Harrier and Safari will solve the issue as they are making some changes with new engine rather than the build of harrier is made up on land rover q arc platform Thank me latter :)

Not really ig. XUV700 still is the best even if tested with old protocol, as it also underwent side barrier test along with esc test, adas test, pedestrian protection and all. Except side pool test xuv700 underwent every other test that the new protocol has now. It's just that new protocol tests everything whereas previously before it was not compulsory and was depending on the 5 star rating

Mahindra has already achieved Two saferchoice awards by Global NCAP. Tata none, the only doubt that lies in Mahindra is their Classic. Or else Tata yet has to offer 6 airbags in Altroz and especially Nexon, dissapointing it doesn't get offer for its price and segment. I think GNCAP should also test the Scorpio Classic. The Scorpio which scored 0 stars had 0 airbags whereas the Scorpio Classic has 2 airbags as mandatory.

During the Pole Side Impact Test - 1:45, there is a side curtain airbag being deployed. In reality this is not available in the lower trims. As per Global NCAP protocols, the lowest trim/variant is selected for testing. Then how did this happen?

Dude if you check the front impact test, that was done with a lower variant but side pole impact was done with z8 or maybe z8l the top model as you know. You can notice with its fog lamps and headlights and other features that are complementary with z8 !
