This is my longest review for Mahindra Thar.
I have Used My thar for almost a year and now i am ready to review actually the beast Mahindra thar.
So in actually in here you will find out the most positive points for mahindra thar and most negative points for mahindra thar. now it is up to you that this long term review is going to benefit you or not as you can make your own decision from this details provided by me about mahindra thar as my long term review.

Most of the things you mentioned are correct. I have a Thar crde since 2015. I added a hardtop, changed the tyres, changed the bumpers and installed a custom rear seat which can be folded.. I did all this to make it car for daily use. My 2 kids age 2 and 7 then always preferred the Thar over a Honda city and a Micra. Even today we drive 500km+ in it and also use it to drop them to the school bustop and run errands. So is it perfect? no but then you get used to it because you start seeing the positives. It drives better on bad roads than good ones, no one messes with u in traffic, waterlogged roads are never an issue and maintaining this thing is super cheap. Don't spend on any music system, just buy a large Bluetooth speaker and put it on the dash. The AC is very powerful and very effective only if you put a hardtop else the wind and road noise will kill you. I recently installed a clutch less system wherein the clutch gets automated via a sensor on the gear lever so now it is partially automated. I intend to keep this till it falls apart. Trust me the folks at any valet parking rush to pick this up more than any other vehicle.

That's exactly i find Thar, it's been 3 years now i acquired one and more i used it, more i fell in love with it. The feeling of being in control of beast on road, simply grows strong and the might and beast presence on road compel others to give way and carefree and confident feel it gives you just cannot be ignored. It took me to the places with loads more than intended and one could only imagine. Majority of run so far on trails ( hardly any roads) and deep slush and rocky areas, Thanks to Mahindra for such rugged and tough vehicle that never failed to impress at any kind of terrain. There might be cons and negatives as mentioned by Vikram bhai, but yet one tends to forget/ignore all of these for once and all. I have another car for city drive and other daily routines but even my toddler prefers Thar drive over comfy car ride. He seems to already blending in with toughness and I am already started liking it. Totally unnecessary and unwanted comparison to any other car/SUV as Thar is never sold as daily use/family car (correct me if i am wrong). Proud owner of Thar and it will always be in stable till I die (may update with time to new).

Hello from Banglore.... I think I had seen the first ever review of Thar this honest and for all customers coming from diff segment. As I drive a sedan but longing to buy a thoroughbred SUV stance. Not a hard core off roader but that road presence can't be matched. New model looks promising as I saw from your other video, hopefully and finally I would get a brawler of Indian Roads. Agree with your point ..to buy an used thar for Off Roading... But I bought the last BS 4 one available at M&M's factory in Nov2019...a silver color and took it for Bangalore BODA 2020 Off road event and Thar Proved it's the best off roader The change I made was fixing Steel Off Set Rims and Apollo Apterra2 All Terrain Tyres and Freewheeling Hublocks by LAMDA When in Unlocked position your 4 wheel drive does not engage thereby increasing life of front wheel drive shaft, easy steering and some fuel savings

If you change the rear suspension, instal a hardtop with insulation and get better tires or atleast better rims. Then it is a good car for city drive

I Am Glad I Dropped The Idea Buying It After The Test Ride , At That Time ABS , Was Not Standard , Also Ride Was Harsh.In Fact Your Family Members Are Going To Be Very Uncomfortable , Just Forget About Rear Seat Comfort. Sir I really like your review, but I'd like to point out one small detail you mentioned in electronic components of Thar: The electronics inside the vehicle won't add to your monthly maintenance expenses or to service costs. They would cost only in case of component failure which isn't unheard of from Mahindra. My xylo had a failed multimedia head unit and Mahindra charged a bomb to replace it
