I just booked the Sonet today, had no second thoughts. The cabin feels so sporty and vibrant, there is almost an instant rush and one feels connected. Also the whole digital and physical dimension in the Sonet cabin is classy, both the 10 inch screen and the sporty buttons blends brilliantly. Not to forget the state of the art Bose audio with mood themed lights adds more jazz to the move. On top loads of practical features be it Drive and Traction modes, Ventilated Seats, Paddle Shifters etc etc. Just changes the game altogether. BTW the seats are premium, offering maximum comfort. The whole ergonomics and the Black-Red GT line trim makes you feel you are in a premium sport-line segment !!! Absolutely no match with the decade old, 'usual joe' white colored XUV 300 interiors and the outdated MID, which looks like a rip off from the old Compass. SONET GT makes a clear statement !!!!!!

Cramped second row, no legroom at all with a wheelbase of just 2500 mm and build quality is not upto the standards. People who gives importance to features over build and safety would prefer sonet....

@@mr.leveller Do you know which has been most selling car in India? Maruti Alto / Wagor R with least safety and build. Reason is affordability , reliability, fuel economy so everybody do not buy car by thinking just build. BTW I took test drive of Xuv300. After couple of Thousand KM, Engine will become noisy, Clutch is hard (MT), Cabin buttons quality looks cheaper and least fuel economy.

For me Xuv300 best Safety is most important because connected features not very useful in daily life And we bought car for Family, so space is important Because we let the family member sit in the car seat, not in the car trunk.

Yes safety is a priority but if u r talking about space if u have a big family then the trunk will also not b enough for u. Sonnet is designed for urban commuters & for small families. The boot space is also very practical. Since summers are very hot in most part of India the rear ac vents does the job

XUV 300 is the best in this segment. I had the test drive for both cars Nexon and XUV 300 at the same day with 10 minutes gap. Nexon has blaind spot in the right A pillar, it has big cabin noice, and a lot of body roll. Even clutch is also harder than XUV 300. But in XUV 300 is far better in all the above. No cabin noice, very less almost no body roll, very easy light clutch. Very fun to drive. More safer then Nexon because of all wheal disc brake and 6 air bags. The 17" allay wheel give you more stable and confident drive. Besides XUV is heavier than Nexon. XUV300 is the best in this segment. Go for XUV 300. It has fun to drive strong punchy diesel engine. After a test drive with Nexon,Kia Seltos I purchased XUV 300W8(O) last week.

In Sonet, for the 1 litre turbo engine with the IMT transmission, isn't the turbo lag a pain in the ass? Like I have to drive the car for 90% of the times in a busy city like Bangalore (daily office going purposes), then isn't the turbo lag something that would screw the experience everyday, everytime? is there a way to get rid of it, or is it something that one has to live with?

I have seen diesel driver and for all turbo engines, there is always a lag. But you will get accustomed by keeping an eye on tachometer. Our cars have max torque in certain RPM band. Make sure to plan overtakes in high torque for quick response . In city drive, lower your gear to be in such band.

Kabhi rear ac vent use kiya hai? Aisa lagta hai ki bas vent hi hai, sirf show ke liye. Uska performace actually bahut kam hota hai toh hona ya na hona barabar hi hai, difference yahi hai ki voh directly thodi air, face pe de sakta hai.

For some reason I just don't trust the Kia with longevity, it seems light. The Mahindra is tried & tested and the interiors are something one can live with and also the second row space is very important if I'm paying this much for a car. About the boot, we traveled to Udaipur in a Celerio and could fit in bags worth 4 days of stay for 4 people so I guess it should be more than enough on the XUV unless you need it as a taxi in which case you'd rather fit in an overhead carrier.

Except for Tiago, Tigor as Tata is really doing a great job regd their budget lineup. Now before anyone else comes up with "..... Neh neh.... Cars are mechanical , so there might be issues.... Neh Neh...." , let me just clarify - yes, cars are mechanical marvels, and they do often needs sth to be fixed. But a good car must have consistency on what components of it fails... There are n number of reports from long term users regd Tata's service blunders, components inside cars that we least expect to go wonky quickly etc. Also for your budget, a good Nexon variant might cost well above 9... It might even go 10 or 11 Lakhs... 9 Lakhs for a compact SUV might be a bit demanding... As only bare minimum manual variants come in that price. Even for an all rounded vehicle as Venue. Their Venue model is the vehicle which somewhat started this craze over mid size / micro SUVs in the first place, so that vehicle has some good going for it. Regd. Xuv 300 and Brezza... I'm not quite sure as I have little knowledge on those models... But as far as customer reviews go... Mahindra is falling short of numbers in XUV 300 sales just because it's a Mahindra. Usually Mahindra cars have good stability, driving feel and overall road presence, if you are into aesthetics. Vitara's diesel has good reviews going for it. My best picks ( if these cars do have a trim at 9L or just above ) 1. XUV 300 ( for the effort Mahindra has put in that car ) 2. Venue ( all rounder. Hyundai seldom fails in aftersales support... That's why they have been consistent for the past 25 years or so in India ) 3. Nexon ( it has got the looks. But after sales will surely rely heavily on the dealer near you. If their service crap, then ur done ! ) 4. Brezza ( no specific hate for Suzuki.. it's just, ok-ok. Diesel brezza is good, but sadly Suzuki is stopping Diesel models ) Note : I don't think any of these cars would have automatic type transmissions at this budget, if ur looking for one.
