In bronze and silver rooms, players tend to be much more aggressive and optimistic. As you reach higher rank rooms, you notice that people fold more often and are more wary about things like yakuhai calls. Of course, it's not exactly smart to be optimistic but at lower ranks its still fun to watch interesting hands like that come together :p

@@cameronvictor5115 why not? You get a free extra draw. Yes it makes people more wary of your hand, but the added Dora also incentivizes aggression from opponents. There’s nuance but calling that kan doesn’t seem bad to me.

@@markosoloanime Well I did land some big hands like Yakuman before but it wasn't on purpose xD Thanks for the e-book but i'm not much of a reader, I prefer learning from others. Right now, i'm focusing on memorizing easy hands to remember like Pinfu, Half Flush & Full Flush.

i got already got haitei raoyue,houtei rouyui,rinshan kaihou ,all simple,yakuhai,riichi,double riichi,open riichi, i also got sanbaiman,baiman,haneman,mangan and im a beginner i forgot the others but i got all except yakuman

@@markosoloanime Looking at your replay it seems that sekinin barai is in effect. You took 40200 (24k + 16k + 200) from east and 8000 from south. The 24k is sekinin barai for the daisangen. 16k for the tsumo which is distributed normally.

Sekinin barai isn't used in mahjong soul as far as i'm aware, but I remember that full Pao does apply. East would have had to pay the full value if all dragons came from east.

Akagi is maybe the better Mahjong intro anime imo. The title character is completely new to the game at the start so the viewer is introduced to the rules as he is.

I read Saki and still don't know shit about Mahjong. I started MahjongSoul yesterday and am slowly learning how to make hands. But I don't know how to calculate points, declare Riichi, why my hand can't be used to Tsumo sometimes (maybe a glitch?) etc.

My guess is that it’s probably not a glitch. Riichi has a multiple of rules that the players need to abide by, the most fundamental being that you need a yaku to go out. Check furiten too. ^_^

@@SueiWaa By now I am starting to get it. You need a close hand to declare Riichii and only can only win with Terminals if you go for all terminales, honors and terminals or have completed a dragon/seat wind/round wind.

32000 from all if tsumo, so in this case that would have been 64000. And 96000 if the win is off someone's discard.
