Such an amazing performance of such an important work: Fassbaender is astonishing; and there are so many great renditions; she touches the heart of Mahler's tragic comedy and clarifies what it means to be human.

This fabulous performance should have been released commercially. F-D and Fassbaender are wonderful....so's Zender! Thanks for the subtitles.

Growing up in the English speaking world I learned this song cycle via Janet Baker and Dietrich Fischer Dieskau. But Birgitta Fassbaender really tells the stories every time. So enjoyable. I love the facial expressions, the timing as well as that super full mezzo sound.
